March 7, 1993 - Sunday - Rebecca, Baseball

Well, it's now officially Spring Break! I'm here in my room alone waiting for my parents to arrive later this morning. It's just after twelve now. I probably could have gone home earlier, but I got some research for my toxic waste term paper done instead, and also am letting my family visit for the first time since back in August before school started. I would have rather been home earlier for Kimmeth, but oh well.

Chris and I helped Jon and Ed carry their stuff down to the car before they left. Leaving them with only one last trip, Chris and I went off in search of an open computer lab to print up some stuff. We both considered Ed lucky that we were helping him, because of the extreme stupidity he shows sometimes. CHris asked him about a week ago if he would help him carry his stuff down to his car. Ed essentially said no thanks, because he was watching TV. That really pissed Chris off, and me too. I remember back one time a long time ago when I just got back from Tampa, and asked if he wanted to help me. He said no, and didn't, although I had to make several trips by myself. It's fucking common courtesy to help other people. I have always done it for him. I almost have the urge to tell him next time to get off of his lazy spoiled ass and help, and if he doesn't, he'll be kissing all help from me goodbye.

Anyway, when Chris and I got home, we found that they had locked their door. I guess that I can understand for security reasons, but why would they do that all of the sudden after leaving it open all of Christmas? It really pissed the two of us off, because there were a few of our things in there that we hadn't gotten earlier. I also planned on listening to Ed's radio a bit. I was extremely pissed at the beginning, because I thought he had locked my new Eddie Money CD in his room, which I already told Kim that we would listen to. However, they had put it in my room, just thrown down on top of some computer diskettes. I really appreciate how he takes care of my stuff, throwing it where it could easily be scratched. We decided to get into their room.

We went downstairs and told them that they locked Chris' car key in their room, and we needed to get in. The Resident Advisor on call came down and unlocked the door. I knew we could get that far. I then pulled a very twisty trick. The girl recognized me obviously from the BEaty functions that I went to all of the time last semester, which instilled some trust in her of me. I first asked her about the legality of my entire family coming up and spending the night. She said that it's not really supposed to happen, but there would be no problem now. I then expressed my frustration that the idiots locked the door because I might need the room for my family to sleep. She asked if I would like her to leave it open, and I said yes!!! I then said that I could even have them lock it back up before I leave, and she agreed. I was really surprised and proud of myself. Since neither of us live there, I knew that they wouldn't leave the door open for us! But things worked out nicely!

Ed has seemed to take a sudden extreme liking for Rebecca lately. She has an awesome personality, but not that great of a body or face. This was strongly reasserted by Chris, but I like her. It's also a big turn on that she's a Tri Delt. I think Ed will think that he's a big shot if he can snatch a sorority girl. The other day Chris was joking around saying that he is surprised that Ed introduced her to me, after what I did with Valerie. I don't think I'd do that again, like I left Heidi completely alone. But I found Rebecca entirely on my own, at about the same time he did. To me, that makes her fair game for me as well. Ed brought her over Thursday night. Cecil and the rest of us were all here. We all talked rather obnoxiously for a long time. She hung out over near me and we talked quite a bit. She and I, both fans of David Letterman, watched him together for a little bit, while the other talked amongst themselves. We all had a pretty cool time.

Whenever I answer the phone now, and it's her, I always call her by name, personalizing it, so she knows my voice really well now and we talk all of the time. She called today while only Chris and I were hear, and after we reopened their room, and wanted to get back a CD he had borrowed. I told her to go ahead and come over. I decide to take it down to her. I threw on my little blue swim trunks, and my black tank top, and got into the elevator. It stopped on the fifth floor. There was a large group of people coming in, including Ally and Nicole!!! She came in and we talked for a few minutes. She looks much better, thinner, but her face seemed a bit broken out. I felt pretty crappy for a few minutes after seeing her so unexpectedly. Bitch.

I went back upstairs right away, not seeing Rebecca. She popped into the room later and walked in. She didn't have any makeup on, and was wearing some pretty bummy clothes. I was shocked that a Tri Delt was aloud to walk around campus looking like that. She does have nice legs,a nd was showing them off a bit with very short jean shorts. She stayed over and the three of us talked for quite a long time. When she found out that I was still going to be here Saturday night, she invited me to come with her father, and brother, Jason, to a baseball game. She told me where they were sitting. It was a game between UF and FSU, and students get in free. I showed up at 6:30. They came in pretty soon later. Just from the size of the place, I thought that I might not even find them, and figured I'd just enjoy the game for a while. I met her father and brother, and we walked towards the center to get seats. Her father was very generous with food, but I graciously declined.

I walked down with her to the concession stand to begin with, just so her father could see us walking around together. We joked around and talked a lot during the came. I had a blast. Even though we lost, the came was pretty good, too. It was also cold. They have some awesome sound effects that they play throughout the came whenever somebody get's a hit, or when a pitcher gets replaced, or something like that. It was really funny. We somehow began talking once about Ed being spoiled. She actually brought up the word first! She said that it bothers her, and she rags on him all of the time about it. The other day after they went to a performance of some sort, all dressed up, he drove with her back to Beaty. It was a cold night, and she was wearing a pretty nice dress. Once they got out of the car, he pretty much said goodnight. That freaked her out, and me too. She lives in Broward across the street and wasn't even going to walk her home, or ideally drive her home!!! He later had some fucking lame ass excuse about the fact that he wasn't thinking, No shit! why is he acting so stupid?

She did say how much that really bothered her, though. We also talked about some other stuff. I talked to her father at the end, telling him it was nice meeting them, and all. It was touchy when both Rebecca and Jason would both leave. We didn't know what to say to each other. He asked me once what my major is, and I said pre-med, going for the impression. He asked me if I were going to the basketball game today, and I said no, because my parents were coming to pick me up, and we'd be going back to Tampa in the middle of the day. Since they live in North Reddington Beach, really close to Tampa, I had to slip that in. He asked me about living there, and I asked about him living in Texas, which I picked up earlier. He said that Rebecca was born in Wisconsin, however where they lived for five years. They moved to Florida when she was one, so I concluded that she is essentially a native, and he agreed. It was cool that we were on talking terms by the end of the evening. Even though it had nothing to do with that, it reminded me a lot of meeting a girlfriend's parents for the first time. I wished her a safe and fun Spring Break, and she thought that was sweet, and both she and her father said bye as we parted. It was a pretty cool evening!!!
