Oh what a day! Popularity was indeed in my favor this time. Everybody was much more alive today because it poured early in the day and stayed overcast the remainder. That way it was much cooler and more comfortable than normal. I opted for height stick early in the morning. It wasn't very long before it started pouring. Ryan told me that we were getting two girls, one from Timbuktu and one from Dwarf Village. They didn't have anybody to train the girl from Timbuktu, so they sent her back right away. She was a cuter light black girl named Summer and I joked with her for a second. The next one was named Chrissy and she was somewhat attractive. She seemed a bit mean and unresponsive to begin with, but I soon broke her down. Ryan put her on boardwalk and we started talking. She would have been over in Congo all day without really meeting anybody all day if it hadn't been for me. Ron Jones joked with her for a second, but didn't progress any further. She would have been entirely neglected, of course it would be partially her fault as well. I think it's in a lot of peoples' minds that you can't just up and be friendly with someone out of the blue. I find that stupid.
I invited her into the queue with me after asking her to go get my raincoat out of the booth. It was storming horribly and that's when we really got to know each other as much as you can in one day. She's 23 and is almost a registered nurse. I told her she can come and work with me if I become a doctor. She's moving to Colorado really soon, where her sisters and cousins live. She says she really doesn't like the heat and humidity here. We talked about what we both had done during the big storm back in March. She had gone to a concert in a dress.
The rain eventually stopped and the clouds started moving in almost the entirely opposite direction. The same storm front yesterday had caused tornados yesterday just north of Tampa. We watched as these black blotchy clouds dipped closer and closer to the ground. They were off towards the brewery and started swirling around each other. We both started in awe thinking fully about the possibility of it forming a funnel cloud. It was weird how all of the clouds seemed to be converging around a central point and dropping downwards. It reminded me of the cloud scene from ghost busters. It was truly amazing. We stood there shoulder to shoulder, figuring out where we would go if a tornado formed, and imaging the horrible disaster if a tornado hit with so many people congested in such a wide open area. It would be horrible. The clouds eventually pulled back up and flattened out.
Michael came and got me on break and Chrissy and I went walking through the rain. She asked me if I'd show her where the breakroom is and we walked down there together. The one thing I noticed from the start were her big blue green eyes. They were very pretty and I really wanted to tell her, but didn't. I was impressed by them the entire day. She had been wearing her raincoat and hood the entire time, and she finally pulled it off to reveal her mid-back length wavy brown hair. It was actually quite pretty. She had some grays and I pointed that out. We ended up joking around quite a bit from then on. Dayanara was in the breakroom and I went to give her a big hug with my wet coat still on. She refused and we then talked for a few minutes. I went into the girls bathroom to comb my hair. Chrissy went to walk into the other one until she realized it was the men's. She came and kicked me out and said she had to pee. She started taking off her jacket while I was there outside of the door and I told her that she was aloud to shut it, but didn't have to if she didn't want to.
I went and sat down and Stephanie came in. She was crying because she was all soaking wet and we hugged in an attempt for me to comfort her. We talked for a little bit until I had to walk back with Chrissy. We both ended up on the platform after that and were talking a little more. I noticed her watching me with those beautiful eyes every once in a while when I'd walk into the queue to survey the guests.
It was still raining but the Kumba was up. Ryan, Scott, and Ron all rode and said that the Kumba was hauling ass! I had to see for myself so I rode three times at lunch. It was flying and felt awesome! You could really feel the difference on the cobra roll and the spirals. It was great. I told Lori that I just got off and she said she's print me up a picture. I went to the lounge and talked to Laura and Stephanie. Stephanie wanted some watermelon. I told her that it feels like we're going out because I'm buying all of her food. I gave her my keys and told her if she could find my locker, she could have some of my Kumba change. I ended up telling her where it is and getting money for me to buy a Cherry Coke. She was going to feed me some, but I hate it. Chrissy came in and Stephanie and Brad were saying something mean about her until she came over and sat by me. We then talked for a few minutes. She ended up leaving at 2:30 because she had to pick up a friend at the airport.
I talked to Stephen quite a bit, too. We'll always call each other from across a walkway and said hello and talk for a few minutes. He's really cool.
On one of my breaks, I decided to make my rounds by visiting Kiddie Rides. My intentions were to visit Terri, until I saw Dayanara and Laura there, too! I was in heaven and decided to make an experience out of it. I talked to Dayanara first. She told me she wanted me to stay and talk with her. I was being all wonderful, saying how much I like her. We were talking about sexual harassment, and what is and isn't harassment. She said that she always harasses the guys. She was flicking me with water that was dripping off of the ceiling. I told her that I know because she's turning me on by getting me wet. We got a little perverted and i\t was really funny. I then talked to Terri for a few minutes. We caught up on each others' lives and then talked about tornados for a few minutes. I then talked to Laura and went I went to say goodbye to Daya one last time, Laura grabbed my arm and made me stay with her!
I saw Dayanara later and we joked around some more. I told her that My new goal for the summer is to be as dark as her, a Colombian. She's really dark, and I'd love to be like that. I was flirting with some really pretty girls that kept coming through the line throughout the day. Jason and I were joking with them towards the end of the day when we were both out front. I also was talking briefly with these two girls from Sea World. I rode the Kumba once earlier with this British woman. Later, while I was on boardwalk, a woman came up and asked me which way to the Kumba. She then remembered that I was me, and asked me if I hadn't ridden with her earlier. She seemed all happy that she had remembered me. It was funny. I also worked my way over to the merchandising hut and said hello to the girls in there.
I walked up and Laurie, the cute one, said that she really wanted some popcorn and told me to go get her some. I told her no and then left. I then ran to Congo to the popcorn stand and was going to sweet talk a small cup out of the people there, but they were closed. I couldn't find any other shops that sell it, so I went back empty handed. She had gone to the bathroom and we walked back to the shop together. I told her of my efforts, and that I tried really hard. I also told her that I couldn't find little kids to steal it from. I then went back over to the photo shop with her. Lori was jokingly shaking her head at Laurie, telling her she's not supposed to be running around talking. She then showed me my picture. It didn't come out that great. There was this young fat girl there and she asked me if I wanted it, because if not, she'd take it and grabbed it and held it against her. I said that I'd take it just to show it off. I also said that I'd ride again when I get off at seven for one more try.
When I did, I hopped on with this woman and her two older daughters in the front seat. The one I sat next to, I had found very attractive earlier in the day. Afterwards I stopped and talked for a minute with Bridgette at the height stick. This time the picture came out a lot better, with a lot more color. they asked me which one I wanted and I pointed to the new one, saying that it has the better looking girls in it. There were guys all around me and they all openly agreed. One said, `Good man!' The girls in the booth yelled at me. She put my picture in a frame and bagged it for me. We said our goodbyes and I left down to Kiddie Rides to say goodbye to Laura and to show off my picture. She was glad to see me and wanted me to switch with her. She then asked me what I bought her. I then showed her and she was surprised that I got it free. I told her it was because Lori loves me. I didn't tell her which Laurie I was referring to, I'll let her use her imagination. She begged me to stay for her and I told her that since she would be gone, and it would be pointless for me to stay. We then said bye and I went home. What fun!
