January 23, 1994 - Sunday - Toilet paper collection

I actually had a pretty fun day yesterday running around with Leigh Anne. I called her in the morning to wake her up so we could start getting ready to do our little activities for the day. I knew it would take her forever so I could some lunch and after an hour I called her to check on her progress. She claimed that she was taking care of a personal problem but she is trying to hurry. I wasn't really worried about it and knew she would pull something like this anyway. She finally came over and got pissed that I had cooked and said that she was going to leave without me and I could meet her there. I just told myself that if she did, I'd go play frisbee with Ed. When I was finished eating me food, not rushed in the least, we headed out with Ed who was going to study. As soon as we parted from him I bitched at her for having no right for getting mad at me eating, of ALL things, when it took her an extra twenty minutes the night before to find a specific pair of shoes when four people were waiting on her.

We went to the museum of natural history just of the street from our dorm because they were doing a special collectors exhibition of their wares. It was really interesting plus she got to see the museum for the very first time. They have an awesome huge Aztec adobe recreated inside plus a very realistic and big cavern. Some of the more interesting collections included marbles, barbed wire from all over the world, collector spoons, and so on. Someone even had My Little Ponies and Chrissy and Cathy would have loved that. My favorite was the toilet paper collection. There was an article on him in the Gainesville Sun that I stole from Michelle as well. He was in the military and collected toilet paper samples form all over the world and you'd be amazed and the variety of colors and textures. Berlin's was really coarse and nasty while some of Great Britain's was like waxed paper. It was neat because he had each sample identified as to which inn or place where he had collected it from. I almost want to start my own beginning with "UF dorm paper: 1) before when it was soft and 2) now when it feels like sandpaper!"
