I just spent three hours on the phone with Kim!!! It's about one in the morning right now. We all had just gotten our cake and ice cream earlier and were eating when the phone rang. Everybody figured that it was for me, but I made Chrissy answer it anyway. When she said it was for me, I asked who it was, and she said it is a girl! Kim heard that and laughed about it when I answered.
We talked a bit about what we'll be doing for the rest of the week. I told her to make sure she includes me in her plans somewhere. She laughed and said that she will. Teresa will be leaving early on Saturday morning so I can definitely have her from Friday night onwards. I got her started talking about her past. I was actually interested in everything she was saying, unlike Abby yesterday. Every once in a while I would concentrate on her voice as well And she sounds so cute!!!
She got to talk to Jake for a little bit earlier as well. She really likes him a lot. She's going to St. Pete tonight to take him to see Aladdin.
She then told me about Bill, a guy she had lived with an apartment for a year and a half. She really liked being with hiom but they started arguing a lot towards the end. She still dated him for a year after she moved out into another apartment of her own. She told me how she and he were hosting some of his friends once, and she happily asked him not to go to a particular bar. He ended up taking them to that bar, spending three hours playing pool, everything she didn't want to do. She ended up going up to the bar and sulked. I thought she was bitching. She said that afterwards, Bill and his friends walked out without bothering to tell her. She came out and yelled at him asking if they were leaving yet. He turned to her and told her to stop being a bitch. She turned and walked home. She said that it was a long time before he even bothered to make sure she got home safely, which was about the point where she decided she just couldn't take him any more. She said that she was out there just saying, 'Fuck you!!!' over and over. She really meant it and it was cute the way she was saying it. She also was complaining about all of his bad habits. Leaving the lids off of stuff in the refigerator, leaving his clothes all over the place, and not ever changing the toilet paper when it runs out and then arguing that he's the one that always does it.
She also mentioned Max again, as well as a former roommate of hers, Jim, who always wanted to do stuff just because she was doing it. He wanted to get a job in typesetting just because she had one. She also was talking about Chad, a guy she still keeps in touch with in Ft. Lauderdale. She also knows his parents and sister very well, she says it's another brother sister thing. I asked her if she wants to meet my sister.
We then started talking all about her days back in high school at Tampa Bay Tech. Her three brothers are Kenny who went with her to Tech, David who is the oldest and whom she called a pot head, and Danny, the youngest who went to King for high school but she says she is glad he went because he was a goofball. She said that she had shorter hair in high school, and that she and I will have to look at her yearbook with her later. She was even late to her graduation because she had a big hole in her red stockings. She went to University Square Mall to get new ones since it was the closest to the Sundome. People were already filing in to their seats when she arrived, and her group was already seated in the front. George, Joey, and Rick were three of her friends there.
She used to go to drawing classes with Bill sfter school in college and drew naked people. We talked for a few minutes about her accent. It was really cute. She was talking about how they all use to go and get stoned every once in a while. She doesn't ever any more, just then.
She also dated a guy named Dan. A friend of hers named Chad used to date a girl named Sunday. Kim knew that Dan hung out in same dance slubs as her so she asked if he knew her. He said that he'd seen her around but doesn't really know her. Kim says that was the right answer, because if he knew her, it meant he fucked her. She was so blunt that it was funny.
We also talked about her high scool fiance, Chris. She went into the boys bathroom once while all of the 'guys' had a smoke. Joey was with her and had been the one to jokingly suggest that she come in, too. They hung with druggies, but she and Joey didn't do anything. She also talked about a huge crush she had on this guy for three years starting in seventh grade. She said that she didn't have many friends. They even used to call her fro! After an hour and a half we were talking about needing to get to sleep, because she has work in the morning, but we ended up talking for over another hour. It was really cool how we talked for three hours!!!! This is really a building friendship!!!! Suddenly. It's amazing!!!!

December 29, 1992 - Tuesday - Take two, not as good.
I received a phone call from Abigail today at about twelve. I had just waken up an hour earlier. She was at her little photography job over on Memorial Avenue. She wanted to know what's up. If she hadn't called, I probably would have never talked to her over this break. I just wasn't really up to talking to her right now. She asked me why I never wrote her back. I had already conceived a nice little lie to cover that one, I told her that I wrote her and asked one of my roommates to mail it, and he must of lost it. It worked. She was getting off from work at one and asked me if I wanted to visit her. I eventually said yes and we decided on meeting at her house at two. She drives her parents' car to work and picks them up, so there was no fear that they'd mysteriously pop up at a bad time.
We talked for a while and played with her new little dog for a little while. we eventually got to the point where she wanted a back massage in return for the one she gave me back in high school. I asked her if she had any baby oil, and we ended up finding some hand lotion. She went and took off her shirt and bra and came back in, covering up with her shirt, and laid down on the couch. I gave her a half hour massage, and she said that i'm actually pretty good at it. We then got to the point where she got up and was walking around showing off her breasts. She was trying to play mind games with me by asking me all kinds of questions about my feelings. She wasn't being fair with some of the stuff she was saying and later admitted that she was playing mind games.
We only had a half hour left when we first kissed. I soon started feeling her breasts, and then complained about her still being clothed. She kept asking me if I was encouraged enough yet. It was sort of a joke between us. We eventually were standing up kissing in the center of the room. We only had fifteen minutes left. I took off my shirt and went for her belt and jeans. She started on my shorts. We very quickly were into each other's underwear. She started laying with my dick and i pulled her close and kissed her deeply. I then asked if we could find a place to lie down. We were both still in our socks. We went into her bedroom and cleaned off her bed. I ran and got my condom and we went at it. I think she came but I never did. We rushed pretty quick and it really sucked. My wife is really going to love me, I'm easily persuaded, and can go a long time having sex...
I guess we parted on pretty decent terms. She told me to make sure and call her the next time I'm down. Since I might not have my car, I joked that I'd see her in May! She said to call then, or at least write. I guess I will. Right now I'm really thinking that I don't ever want to see her again. Maybe I'll change my mind later, but I doubt it. It was good the first time, but that almost eighteen years of suppression. I want better now. Seriously.
For the record, I was screwing at 4:30, five minutes before, and five minutes after.
I went to Kash n Karry afterwards and picked up some stuff that mother gave me money for before I left. One was ice cream for the chocolate cake I made before I left for Abby's earlier today. I then went to Eckerds and picked up the reprints of the picture of Cathy and I in the water at Sand Key. I had mailed the other two to Tracey and to my new german pen pal, Natalie.
When I got home, I called Kim. She was sleeping so we only talked for a second. I asked her if she'd call me back later. I then went to sleep until about 7:45. I then called Melissa Aubin's parents' house in Pace. Her mom told me that she is at her grandparents' house. I then called there. Her grandmother answered. I asked if Melissa is there, and she said no, that she just left about ten minutes ago. She didn't know when she was coming back, and then asked who's calling. I said that this is Dan down in Tampa. She suddenly said, 'Oh my!' I asked her if she'd tell her that I called and she said yes. She had a very pretty grandmothery voice and seemed very nice. It was weird the way she said, 'Oh my!' It almost sounded like Melissa was talking about me to her, like she had been expecting my call for a while and then was upset that I hadn't. It was interesting.

December 28, 1992 - Monday - Christmas, Rhonda, Tina
Well I figure it's about time I write about Christmas, before I forget!
We left for Jonny's house on Christmas eve sometime around five o'clock after father got home from work. When we got there, Jonny was outside waiting for his new little girlfriend, Carol, to arrive. Everybody else was already there, but the food wasn't quite ready yet. I said hello to Rick and a couple of the others. Sherry kept going on about how big I've gotten since they've seen me last. She kept making fun of Jon for not being the biggest anymore. Larry was already sitting at the table, silverware in hand, waiting for the food. I went and talked to Grandma for a few minutes before it was time to eat. I actually got a spot at the adult table this year. I sat next to Joan.
Rick and Denise smoked the turkey, and I thought it tasted pretty good. I also ate tons of stuffing. I talked to Rhonda for the first time while we were filling our plates. Rhonda was wearing a cute little midriff shirt. After dinner, Rhonda, Tina and I went and sat on the couch with Jon and teased him about Carol, who still hadn't showed up yet. When she finally did, I told Tina to scoot over so Carol could sit with Jon. Then Rhonda, Tina and I started talking for a while. They thought it was neat when they found out I am going to UF. Tina knows a lot of people who go there and actually knew about some of the parties at Gator Growl...
I just now had some thoughts. I was thinking about who I'm going to call when I get back up to Gainesville. I was just thinking about how my closest female friend, Melissa, is now gone. I then come home and all of those old 'I'm in love with Kim!' wounds are now reopened and I'll have to deal with that again. We'll be parting with a much better relationship this time. I just would like to go to my new classes, make some new friends, and ideally find a girl that I can actually be with for some length of time. That's all.
Anyway, we soon opened all of our presents. Larry was constantly taking pictures. He then would group us up into our families and take those as well. I eventually went and got my camera and asked him to take a couple for me. I wanted a picture of Rhonda and Tina so I took a 'family portrait' of his family for myself. I received a portable cassette player from Rick and family to use up on campus. I later found out that they kept asking Mema all about my classes trying to find out something really good to get me. I'm going to write him a thank you letter soon. Mema gave me three dollars and later gave me a new shirt. She said that she didn't want to give it to me with everything else because she didn't have anything for Robert. We decided that we'd consider it a back to school gift. I also got a good little keychain flashlight among other things from Larry. That was good.
It was funny watching Carol caught up in all of the commotion that we have all gotten use to over the years. After everything was opened, everybody started grouping off and talking. Sherry, Denise, Rhonda and Tina all stole Carol at the kitchen table and they talked for hours. Jonny was depressed that they stole his 'girlfriend' so I tried to cheer him up. I took Cathy over and got her to give him a Hershey's kiss. He was laughing and it did a good job of cheering him a up for a little while. Later on he was messing with his camera. The film wasn't winding and he couldn't get it fixed. He was almost ready to throw the entire thing away. Luckily, I've played with cameras enough that I fixed it pretty quick so he was happy again. I was glad that I got it fixed.
Eventually, everybody started going home, and we soon did as well. I was a bit surprised to discover that Carol is quiet old with at least one sixteen year old kid! I went to sleep pretty soon after we got home.
I didn't wake up until about nine when everybody else was already up. I got to watch Cathy open all of her Barbie stuff and later her ponies. I actually was surprised quite a few times. I got a rechargeable flashlight all of my very own. I was very careful not to let mother steal this one before I had it packed safely away. I also received a Cambridge organizer, which I had wanted for the longest time, but could never find! I didn't really remember telling them that much that I wanted one because I thought that they'd think it's too expensive so I was just going to buy it myself. She said that I did tell her though and I'm glad that I got it. It was a pretty decent Christmas, especially since there was a $550 check inside of the organizer for college!

December 27, 1992 - Sunday - Kimmeth, Busch Gardens
Merry Christmas! Kim didn't call me Christmas evening, and I then slept in late on Saturday morning. I sort of really wanted her to call. As I was lying there in bed, I realized that maybe she wants me to call her just to make sure that I want this friendship as well. I haven't been the one that usually calls the other lately. I mean, she did have to call me up in Gainesville because i hadn't called in so long. I got up and gave her a call at eleven. She was getting ready to go do her laundry, but we ended up talking for a good hour. She went to some blues bar Christmas night where her little bartender friend, Drew, works. Fortunately, he has a girlfriend. She had some pretty funny stories to tell about what went on there. She also was bitching quite a bit about how her brothers ate all of the Christmas leftovers and didn't save her any. She says that she likes to eat the outer coating of the turkey because it tastes good. I referred to it as 'turkey jerky' and she liked that.
While we were on the phone, her mother went outside to check the mail. Kim was saying that the mailman is flirting with her mother. She then saw her carrying in a package and wondered if it was for her. She said that her mother would open it for her if she didn't hurry and get it. She asked and her mom said that, 'It's all your's,' and handed her everything. She got some pretty good Christmas presents. One was an insurance check for well over a hundred dollars from the woman who bumped into her. The other was a cute Calvin and Hobbes T-shirt from her friend in St. Johns down in the Virgin Islands. They both had this evil smirk on their faces and she really liked it. She was happy that now she had something to wear if we went out so that she didn't have to go and wash her laundry yet. I told her to wait until today anyway because I would be up at Granny's.
We also talked about Busch Gardens a bit more and she was telling me that the Flume ride was back up, but they were having a shitload of problems with it. Stuff like, Spillway would shut off when they started Lift 2, which in turn would shut off when they started Spillway, and she said that the pumps kept going off. I think she had talked to Mark earlier. He was working there and called her once while it was shut down. She also informed me that Busch Gardens is open until nine at night all this week. She asked me if I'd still like to go over that day. I said that I suppose. She asked , 'Just suppose?' and I said, 'No, please, please, please go with me to Busch Gardens today!' She told me that she loves it when I beg and we laughed. We decided on going at about three, and she said she'd call back later after she ate, showered, and did some other stuff. I got ready and then went to sleep for a while.
When she hadn't called by three, I called her and asked,' What's taking you so Goddamn long?!?' in a witty tone. She laughed and said that she was washing her car, and that she'd call me back soon. I then went and bought gas and she called pretty soon after I got home. She asked me if she could talk me out of Busch Gardens, because she didn't really feel like going. She said that perhaps we could go see a movie and go get some French fries somewhere. I said sure, figuring it was getting late anyway. She also asked me if I still have the little advertisement from Denny's that she signed and I said yes, that it's up on my bulletin board in my room. She said that she was going to jump in the shower and would call me back. I said that it's going to take me forty-five minutes to get there anyway, so I might as well start driving. She realized that it was a better idea and we said that we'd see each other in a little while. I wanted to leave early because I figured that she might still change her mind about Busch Gardens and didn't want to waste any more time. When I got there she was in her room getting dressed and called out for me to hold on a second and entertain the birds. Her mom was in the kitchen and chuckled. She came out with her hair sopping wet and was dressed in her new shirt and some black bicycle shorts. The shirt was an extra large and was very big on her. It was cute because at times, it looked like that was the only thing she was wearing. We ended up mentioning that at one time. She looked at me and asked if I still wanted to go to Busch Gardens. We laughed and I told her that I figured she'd change her mind which is why I wanted to go ahead and come. She asked if I minded if we took her car. She wanted to cash her insurance check first and figured it'd be better if she drove because she knew where she was going.
We drove up to the check cashing place on Hillsborough and I told her that I'd just wait in the car. She said OK and said that she'd even turn on the radio for me. It took her quite a while and I would have gone in with her if I would have known that it was going to take so long. It's a pretty bad part of town so I just kept hoping I'd live and wouldn't get robbed. She jogged to the car when she was done and apologized for taking so long. We then drove by the car lot where she bought her 1975 Toyota Celica but they were closed. We were talking the entire way. We used to shut up when we were driving for some reason. Somehow we brought up the fact that she shaved her legs as well. I was happy that she did. She also has a little date with a guy named George tonight from Boca Raton. He's a little surfer dude with blonde hair. So. She met him last weekend in Ft. Lauderdale and they said that they might do something since he was coming to Tampa this weekend. She said that she didn't really want to go with him anymore, but he did stay an extra day just so he could. She was suppose to call him at around eight. She ended up hoping that they would just meet for a drink and she could send him n his way. It sure did sound like she was trying to make it seem like he is very unimportant to her. She started doing that earlier with any of the guys she was talking about, sort of like the way I do to the girls I know.
I asked her earlier on the phone if she knew that Boca Raton means 'rat's mouth' earlier and she didn't believe me at first. She once was in a cafe that was named something French that had a totally different meaning than the way that it was translated literally. But since it was a Spanish name, I started pronouncing his name in Spanish, 'Hore-Hey.' It was funny. Anyway!!! We were driving in her car and started talking about her legs being shaved somehow. I reached under the steering wheel and gently yet quickly slid my hand up her leg and said that they indeed had been shaven. She said that I couldn't even tell by doing it so quickly so I reached over a felt her leg again, but longer. She said that her ex-live-in-boyfriend, Max, used to think she had very nice legs and showed me how he once felt her leg in the car by rubbing her hand up my leg. We exchanged leg rubs a couple more times and it was quite interesting. I was having a trip!
Then we really started talking to one another for the remainder of the day. We never ran out of things to talk about. Not even while we ate dinner, or on the trip home, it was amazing. I guess that since I'm eighteen now I can no longer be considered jailbait and she actually will consider me a person!?! Just kidding! Sort of.
Anyway we were talking earlier about having to pay parking and I mentioned the little lot across the street near McDonald's that I always park at. You then just cross at the pedestrian light and you're at the entrance to the park. She wasn't quite sure where I was talking about, and said she'd probably feel more secure if we parked inside the lot. When we passed by, I pointed it out and she saw that it was a lot safer than she thought and started to U-turn to go park there. I figured that They wouldn't be charging parking by this time anyway and thus told her to go ahead to the lot. I was right and we parked pretty close to the front under the Monorail. She had a very presumptuous zit on her right cheek that she was very self conscious about. I didn't think almost-twenty-five year olds got zits! She wanted to put on concealer and we were laughing that she would have to do it in front of the Monorail full of people that just passed by. She kept bringing it up every once in a while that everybody is looking at her zit. I wasn't being mean, just funny. and only when she brought it up first. I kept reassuring her that it wasn't very bad though. But the two that just popped up on the other side are!!! Ha!
She gave me her little money holder to hang on to for her and I put it in my back pocket with my wallet. We walked in and stopped by the photo Express and said hello to Rich. We then walked through the bird gardens and the kiddie land looking at everything. We were talking and joking around the entire time. We walked to the Flume first and went to see who was there. Paul, the guy who we saw over the summer at Adventure Island was there for the winter and we said hello. I noticed that everyone was still in shorts, and Kim said that it's optional now. Wow! We walked up front and Kim introduced me to Laura. She was asking me later if I wanted to go out with Laura, but I'm not quite sure why. We also talked to Alan for a few minutes. After Kim and Laura waved to Mark up at Lift 2, and after I said that he could kiss my ass, Kim and I walked out and over to the Python. We were messing around about something as we were out on the deck in front of the Flume but I don't remember what.
The Python line wasn't that long, and we headed straight for the back. The rides seemed much faster and more fun after not riding on them, and not thinking about them every day, for a while. We could see the beginning of the giant new roller coaster that we had heard so much about. It was an aqua blue just like I dreamed and is huge! Only the lift and part of the bottom is in place yet, but it seems to tower into the sky. It's awesome!!! I can't wait! It started to sprinkle for a few minutes. It turned out that it poured in most of Tampa except for at Busch Gardens. An arctic front was also supposed to come through but I didn't think it would, and it's still very hot. We stopped and talked to this black guy who hangs out with them for a few minutes. He told her to bring me the next time they go out and she then said that I'm only eighteen. He said that I should try to get a fake ID over at USF. She then wanted to ride on the Mamba so we did It was fun being squished in a small cart right next to her. We got one that spun very quickly, too.
We then walked over to Timbuktu and rode the Phoenix. Kim's shoulder harness locked too tight and she was complaining that it was squashing her breasts. I though of so many rude things to say back at her but I'm a nice person now so I withheld them. We had fun though looking at the nighttime skyline upside down. I kept telling her to raise her arms and we both did. It was fun. It was the first time in a long time that we got to see all of the rides with their lights on because the park used to close while it was still daylight. We then went over to the Scorpion and got seats pretty close to the front. That was fun as well. We then walked through the employee walkway over to the Flume. Laura was on the unloading brake and Marcella was up front. We said hello to her and then both got in the front. There was nobody else on the ride and she didn't want to get wet so she tried to hop into the back. I kept holding her in with my knees around her butt but she eventually wiggled free. Thus I splashed her. We saw Andre and Mark with their little trainees up in the boxes. After we got off I gave Kim a big wet hug and she tried to wipe her leg off on my shorts.
After we were done messing around on the Flume, we went and rode the Skyride. We both simultaneously sat on opposite sides of the gondola and put our feet up on the seats. We kept straight faces and then laughed because the guys running the ride were talking about us because they expected us to sit together. I wish we would have, though. We were talking before about Teresa's brother Gene. He's the one that Kim went out with before but now she thinks he's a total asshole! We joke about him all of the time even though I've never met him. The stories alone are enough. Of course I realize that they are one-sided but I believe her. When she told me that he works at the Gap in the mall, I immediately made a logical deduction that he's gay. It's form the guy's that I've seen working there. When she realized the truth to what I was saying she thought it was pretty funny. I made some pretty funny jokes about him being gay off of stuff she would tell me. It was pretty funny.
At one point she joked to me that I should appreciate her company because Gene would kill to be in my shoes right now. We then joked that I should call him and tell him how much fun I had today at Busch Gardens with Kim today. 'Did you know that she has very soft legs? And have you seen the new tattoo on her butt yet?' It was funny.
We got off of the Skyride and went over to ride Questor. We were joking around again and having a good old time. She said that we should find out which door was going to open, and since I have asked them that plenty of times before with my family, I did it again. She seemed somewhat impressed that I went and found out for us. It was funny because every once in a while, all throughout the day, we would just look at each other and smile without saying a word for a second or two. Anyway, we went to the back corner where the ride is the roughest. She hadn't ridden back there in a while and we got thrown around quite a bit. We then both mentioned being hungry and decided to get some food soon. We first walked through the Clydesdale exhibit and saw the baby born back in March I think. It was about twenty until eight, when she wanted before to be home, so she asked me if there was anything else I wanted to go and ride, or did I want to go and eat, and I opted for the later.
She wanted to go into the gift shops first though to buy a couple of small gifts for some people she knows. She bought these cute little glass animals that were hand blown. One was a little round pig. They had these larger glass bunnies made of solid glass tinted slightly pink. I know lots of people who would love one of those, mainly Tracy and my sisters. We then went to the leather shop where I helped her pick out a pretty new purse. Their stuff is actually pretty cheap for being genuine leather. We also looked at some of the other little imported trinkets they were selling. She was looking at these little hand carved boxes made out of what looks like soapstone with little flower designs in the top. She was wondering what it was for and I wasn't really paying attention but mumbled that it looks like a lizard coffin. She really liked that, enough that it made her want to buy it. That was brought up a couple more times later as well.
We also ended up talking to Rich again for a little while. He's interviewed and will be taking a job as a branch manager at a Barnett Bank soon. that's pretty impressive. He wants to eventually become some kind of investment consultant. Kim and I then took off to the car. We were lightheartedly arguing over whether we wanted to go to Wendy's of McDonald's. She ended up winning which wasn't really a loss. I just had to settle for a milkshake instead of a Frosty. Darn. After the Skyride, we were talking about how people sit across from each other while they're eating. She also was complaining about how she hates it when somebody just reaches over and takes food off of your plate. She said that she didn't really know she hated that until once when Max did it. She also hates people who leave dregs of food in containers. It was funny. Anyway, I started complaining that she used to always sit across the table from me when we went out to eat. She said that she usually does that with everybody. I did bring up that the one time she did was at McDonald's when all those little black kids were there and she remembered. I pretended that was the reason why it was all right for us to go there instead of Wendy's.
She didn't do that good of a job parking and agreed that I do a better job than she does, even though I did almost hit that van in the University Mall parking lot. Actually I was pulling into the parking space after making a half circle and timed it perfectly. She thought I was going to hit the van though although I knew exactly how far away I was and I eventually convinced her of that. Anyway, as we ordered, I said Merry Christmas as I pulled out my wallet and paid. We went and at at one of the round tables. She scooted in about half way from either side and I smiled and tried to sit as far across from her as I could. She laughed and scooted closer to me and I then moved in right next to her. We talked a lot while we were eating and she kept laughing and wondering if George would be mad since eight had come and gone and she hadn't called. She told me a story about some juveniles who were flirting with her once in McDonald's. It was funny. We also were talking about some personal stuff, enough to make her wink at me a couple of times.
I also made it seemingly clear that I was concerned that she might be interested in other guys. I told her that girls aren't allowed to go after guys who have girlfriends because they would be looked down upon by society, while guys are allowed to because we are already seen as pigs anyway. It was essentially to ask her if she'd stay away from Drew if she could and she knew what I was talking about. I then told her to be good. We were joking that she should go out with George in the same bum clothes that she wore to Busch Gardens. She really seemed intent on making me feel like she wanted to turn this guy off. Good. We then drove back to her house, and we still had plenty to talk about the entire way home. She forgot to turn her headlights on, and off for that matter, which were both mistakes that she made fun of me for that night at the mall. It was funny. When we got to her house she said that even though we didn't stay very long, she still had a lot of fun, and I did as well. She mentioned that perhaps we can go out soon so that I can meet Teresa. I love all this attention from her! We did seem to be in physical contact a hell of a lot today. Fun fun!
I drove home quite happy. I didn't have time to tell my family much of what had happened when the phone rang. I was walking by it and picked it up right away. It was Kim!!! George had taken off!, and we talked to me for a few minutes and then wanted to know if I wanted to see a movie or something. I was looking through the paper and reading off the movies. She asked if there were any takers for Malcolm X. I said that there are plenty in her neighborhood and she told me to shutup. I then asked her what I would do with her for three and a half hours in a long boring movie. She paused and I was laughing to myself before she thought up some dumb response. I think she said that we could make fun of them or something. Yeah, and get shot by the rest of the audience! She then realized that it would be too late by the time I got all of the way back to her house for us to see any movie.
She asked if I'd like to go to her little blues bar. She said that she wanted to take a nap first though and then go. I said that I can't because we're going to Granny's Sunday morning and I had to be awake. She then said that she could always invite Rich, that he'd like to go. I then quickly said, 'OK, I'll go!' and she laughed. Actually he lives in Port Richie and could never make it back to Tampa at any kind of decent hour. She also thanked me for being so agreeable. She then confessed that she really wanted to go to Busch Gardens the entire time, she just wondered if I'm really as flexible as I claim. She mentioned something at the mall Tuesday night and I went along with her. I then mentioned that my wife is really going to love me because I can easily be persuaded to do whatever the girl wants. I guess she was just seeing for herself.
Anyway, I asked her if she'd rather possibly go see a movie tonight instead. She thought that was a good idea and I said that I'd call when I got home. I figured however that she'd be with Teresa since she will have just arrived from St. Louis. When I called she ha already gone so I left a message with her mom. She called home to get her messages and then called me. She said that she was already in St. Petersburg and I said that I figured she would be. We talked briefly but with meaning. She said that she was sorry but her public called upon her and she had to leave. She said that we'll talk again soon, perhaps tomorrow. Good!!! What fun I'm having!
She asked me if I wanted to say hi to Teresa. I said yes and then said hi. She laughed and said she probably won't hear me since she's way in the bathroom. She said that Jake didn't seem to remember her at first, but later Teresa asked him if he knows who that is, and he said Kim. That made her happy. I asked her how Gene is. She said that she thinks he's out on a date, but she doesn't know what his name is! We laughed. It was funny to hear her make fun of him like that by herself. I told her to have fun, and that I'd talk to her later. She said yes, maybe tomorrow...
December 23, 1992 - Wednesday - Date with Kimmeth, Toy's
Actually, I'd still call it Tuesday night. I just got home a little while ago from a pretty fun evening with my friend Kimmeth!
This morning I woke up early and made a chocolate cake with Cathy. I then changed into my bathing suit and took off to lay out. I didn't have much gas, or any meter money for that matter, so I figured I'd just go to the Causeway to get some sun. It's the same sun either way, and I probably wouldn't have gone swimming anyway. But it smelled too much and was too gloomy, so I headed over to Upper Tampa Bay Park. There's a huge grassy field amidst the pines and palmettos that always gets plenty of sun. I ended up staying there for a couple of hours. It was very peaceful and very quiet. I didn't see a person the entire time I was in the field and it is usually somewhat crowded. Afterwards, I walked the salt flats around the entire park, to get some tone in both my muscles and my tan. I did end up with a fair amount of tan for the middle of winter.
When I got home, I cooked a big meal for myself and then fell asleep. I set my alarm for seven so that I could call some girls when I woke up. I was mainly planning on Melissa and Kimmeth. When I woke up, I had the number 237-3263 at the top of my head. I wasn't sure why. I knew that Kim's starts with a two so I figured that it was hers. When I looked hers up, it had a different number, so I called it, but nobody was home. I wondered about the other number and thought that it might be Nicole's. I went back in my old journals and found it to be Kim's, which surprised me. I wonder whom the other number belongs to.
I called her up and she answered right away. She said that it was funny, because she was about ready to call Teresa, The one that always keeps Kim occupied when I want her. We joke about that a lot. We talked for a few minutes about what has happened this past week. She then said that she was getting ready to go shopping at the University Mall and asked if I wanted to come with her. I thought she was kidding at first, but she wasn't. She then said that maybe we can see Toys with Robin Williams. It's funny because Jon and I have been saying how we want to see it, and I told him that I'd probably go see it with Kim in Tampa. We decided to meet in front of the mall facing Fowler Avenue. On the way over, my car overheated. I saw an Amaaco up ahead at the corner of Busch and Nebraska and figured I'd better stop. I was supposed to meet her at eight, and it was already ten til.
Just as I was turning in to the station, my car cut off and I coasted right up to the service center. That was pure luck! It would have sucked if it had conked out on the street or out of reach of the water hose. The mechanic was just sitting there drinking a cola, and when he saw what had happened, he went and turned on the hose and pulled it over to my car. There was a hole in one of my hoses, and he said that would be easy to fix, and he cut off the damaged part and screwed the hose back on. He then had me crank the engine while he cooled off the engine with the water. I was really lucky that I didn't crack the block. It cooled down very well and luckily nothing was messed up very badly. I thanked him and then gave him five dollars. It was well worth the money for the time and trouble that he saved me.
I ended up making it to the mall at ten after, where I jogged up to the front after snagging the first parking spot that I could. I saw her still waiting up by the front. She then hid behind a pole and then stuck her head out and waved at me. She is looking pretty good. We went first into Hallmark and found some cards for her to mail to some of her friends. Instead of waiting in line at the ATM machine, I leant her my ten dollars which she gave back to me after we went to the bank across the street. We then went into a female clothing store. We found some pretty neat stuff, and I was giving my expert opinions on what wolud look good on her. We found some really sexy underwear, which would be a really cool birthday present. Oh yeah, she wears medium. We then decided to go find Toys. We eventually ended up buying a paper at Kash n Karry to find out who was running it. We ended up deciding on going to the theaters down at the corner of Nebraska and Fowler, near Kmart. We were looking at the paper up in the front of the store, and while she was looking for the movies, I pulled out the comics. She said to turn to the horoscopes, which I had planned on anyway. It was really funny because hers said that a major wish would come true with the help of a Sagitarian. That was just after we were reading mine. It was funny. I wonder what will happen.
It was only nine and the movie didn't start until 10:10 so we decided to go into Bennigan's. She hadn't eaten all day and wanted to order some kind of chicken appetizers. I didn't really have enough money to blow on food there, and wasn't hungry anyway, so I just asked for water. She also ordered two strawberry daquiries. There was a two for one special I believe. I had an excuse though, My car just blew up and I had to spend my money to fix it. She was telling me about all her 'boyfriends.' She said that the few are just guys that want to go out and do something every once in a while, no relationships. She asked me about all of my little 'girlfriends' and I sobbed about how they are graduating or won't near enough for me to see them when I go back. She told me how she wants a date for New Years to make Teresa's brother realize she doesn't want him any more. Hmmmm. I wonder if that was some kind of hint. She has seemed awfully 'happy' since I turned eighteen. Teresa wants her to go out with him and she really doesn't want to. It's funny. I drank a tiny bit of her strawberry daquiry after she complained that you can't even taste the alcohol. She was also telling me about this guy in Ft. Lauderdale who is really cheap and was complaining about him not wanting to do what the rest of them wanted to do this weekend. I told her that I felt cheap for not ordering anything, actually poor is more like it. She said that I'm definitely not because I'm still in college which is a good enough reason to be careful with your money. That made me feel better.
We were joking around about sending people Christmas cards and all. There was one sitting on the counter next to our booth that was from the Bennigan's staff to all of their guests. I picked it up and handed it to Kim saying, 'This is for you!' It was funny. She sarcastically thanked me and we laughed. Afterwards we drove over to her car so that she would have it at the theater and could leave from there. She didn't want to leave her car at the mall until after twelve. She told me where the theater was, but I just said that I'd follow her. As we pulled onto Fowler, there was lots of traffic. I quickly got into the far left lane because we had to turn and the cars were all backed up because of the light. When it turned green, I let her in and we got there in a few minutes.
Toys was an awesome movie!!! It is definitely one of the best I've seen in a long while. It has some seriously creative sight gags and is filmed up near Spokane in Washington which is very pretty. The entire movie has music playing in it which adds to the effect. There's a really good Christmas song by Wendy and Lisa, and Seal that they play a lot in the movie. I've already heard it a lot on the radio and love it. I know it will hit number one as more people see Toys. They also played some Enya and some other great music. I'd love to get the soundtrack. It was truly awesome! You just sit their amazed at some of the things they do. We laughed a lot and she and I joked around a bunch as well. The theater wasn't that crowded and there was no one else in our row. We ended up slouched back towards the middle of the movie with our feet up. We also both had our arms on the same armrest and were almost leaning into each other. It was fun. We had a really good time. The movie ends really well, too. I got chill bumps as the children started performing the Christmas song again at the end of the movie. I want to see it again up in Gainesville and definitely dub it as soon as it comes out on video.
We walked out in love... with the movie, of course. We talked for a few minutes outside and she said to call her so that we can go to Busch Gardens this weekend. I had a lot of fun. It's the first time we ended up coming off of a real 'date' both so happy. Actually, this was the first night date we ever went on except to stop for food on the way home from Busch Gardens after work. We did go to Busch parka a couple of times before though. I also had a lot of fun with Melissa last Wednesday. Much more than the last time we went to dinner. It's really starting to come natural for me to be sweet and caring and fun. Thanks Cindy for bitching at me.
It's still Wednesday so I guess I can't start a new journal. I don't know what I'm going to do about Melissa, if anything. I did try calling her last Thursday morning but she wasn't home. I left a short message but she never called me back. She was out of her room by Friday. I think one of her parents came for her graduation and after they packed her stuff, she went and stayed in a hotel. I don't know where she went. I dressed up very nicely for graduation in my suit. I ended up having to sit way up in the highest stands, and without my glasses, I couldn't see much. I didn't think to bring binoculars. Listening to her recieve her award, and reading about her accomplishments in the program almost choked me up. I was extremely proud of her but a little sad because I don't think she's happy enough. I'm not sure if she ever saw me during the ceremony. I was sitting at the front edge of the upper level, and she was facing towards me up on the stage. If she looked hard enough she just might have. I tried my hardest to find her after graduation but couldn't. I think that she had to attend a party at John Lombardi's house afterwards which would have taken her away. I tried to follow her to see which door she walked out of, but messed up. I was severely pissed off and took it out on the road as I drove home right after that. Letting off the tension through driving did calm me dowm a lot and luckily I was making sure to drive safe enough not to get into any kind of trouble.
Anyway, I was sort of planning on calling her on last night after I called Kim, but our lovely little get together came up. I'll probably call her early next week if she doesn't call me. Pehaps it would be better if I just let her go, but I really don't want to do that.
Well, it's almost Christmas. I was trying to get the rest of the family into the car earlier so we could go look at the really nice Christmas lights over near where Stacy's father lives when the phone rang. It was Kimmeth! She wanted nothing other than to talk. It's great how she's actually calling me all of the time now. I actually feel wanted. She told me that she did call Teresa's brother and he was all happy and asked her if she missed him and a bunch of other crap. She said that all she heard coming out of him was bullshit, and that's the way it's going to stay. She says that he tries to buy a girl's love and then dumps her. She says he's a real asshole and was laughing to herself through the entire conversation. It was funny. I had a dream about Agnes earlier today. I really want to call her and say Merry Christmas and see how she is. I figured that Kim might have her number and planned on asking her. We talked about her for a little while and she said that she was thinking about calling her, too, but felt a little awkward because they weren't that close. She did give me her number, 996-3901. We talked a little while longer and she said to give her a call over the weekend so that we can go to Busch Gardens. I told her that we might be going to my Grandmother's on Sunday and she agreed that we can do it on Saturday.
She was complaining that she has a couple of days off later next week and wouldn't be getting paid. I told her that she would be losing pay when she went with me to Busch this weekend but she said that's OK. I felt special. I told her to feel free to call me on Christmas so that we can decide about Busch and she said OK. Fun fun!
December 15, 1992 - Tuesday - Melissa!!!, Wendy's
December 15, 1992 - Tuesday
I just got back from a really hot date! Actually, it was just dinner with Melissa, but hell, that's awesome in itself! We both had a really good time.
That deep dark feeling of rejection had started swirling within me last night, when Melissa still hadn't called me. I had asked her to call me when she got back from Tallahassee to tell me what is up. I wanted this week to be personal with her, not just another business as usual week where the only time we see each other is class related. I did realize that perhaps she stayed longer because she doesn't have any exams until Tuesday night, but I didn't remember if she did or not. Chris has told me not to keep attaching myself to her deeper because she will be gone soon. I told him that I realize that, but hopefully I will get to keep in touch with her after she leaves. I was so in to my studying and everything else this weekend, that I was almost completely distracted from my memory of Melissa. I realized a couple of times that this is what it will be like next semester when she isn't here. I also realized that I have taken all of this quite maturely, and will be able to handle myself when she leaves although I will definitely miss her.
It did bother me when she hadn't called me by Tuesday morning though. I was out of underwear and socks so I washed a load of whites. I kept seeing and flirting with cute girls everywhere, so I new it would be a good day. Both Ed and Chris left the toaster plugged in instead of the answering machine this morning and that pissed me off. I plugged it back in and then Jon, who was leaving, and I went downstairs. I just had to throw my clothes into the dryer. When I got back upstairs a couple minutes later, we had two messages! The second was from Melissa!!! She said:
'Hi Dan, this is Melissa... um... I just gut back in town, it's around noon I think... and I'd still like to walk over.. with you to the test.. because I never really found out where it was... um... so... um I'll be around today studying and what not so you can call if you'd like... otherwise I'll see you around five... all right... Bye bye.'
She sounds so cute!!! I waited until my clothes were done and put away before I called her. I didn't want to call right away, but I also didn't want to make her wait. When I called I first got her answering machine but she called me right back. She told me that her grandfather is out of his coma but he isn't himself at all. He was yelling and cussing at her and her grandmother, although he never normally would do that. She asked me if I had studied much, because she hadn't at all over the weekend. I told her that I didn't want to keep her too long so that she could get some work done and she agreed. I was all elated that I got to talk to my favourite female again. I was just thinking how she rarely ever lets me down, what a friend... She did however accidentally start playing her answering machine and the first message was some guy. Oh well.
After I finally got settled down, I started reviewing my German again for a little while. An hour later Melissa called me back. She asked me if I wanted to go out to dinner after the exam. I said definitely! We didn't decide then where we were going to go. She did say that she needed something to look forward to. It's amazing because she's not getting anything beneficial out of our relationship except for my friendship. Unlike some little bitches (Tama)!
Speaking of Tama, she did call me a little while later and ask about studying for the computer exam. I told her that I don't really care, because I don't have to read a single thing to pass the exam. She is however going to take me to lunch Thursday so that I'll be gaining something as well. Just fuck me bitch! Ha ha! Oh well, we did actually talk for a little while. That was surprising.
At 3:45 I decided that I needed a half hour nap, followed by a twenty minute shower. I was supposed to be at Melissa's at five. When I came out of the shower, Jon told me that he thinks Melissa just called, but she said she'd call back. When I got down to her dorm, she said that she hadn't called. I wonder who did. Since we were supposed to go out to eat, I dressed up a little nicer than I had planned. I wore my good cuffed jean shorts and my black button up shirt. I also carried my leather jacket. We had to cross Thirteenth Street to get to Norman Hall where the exam was. As we walked into the tunnel, Pong came running up to walk with us. He asked me if I had shaved and I said yes, and asked why. I had cut my chin and have a slight scar and thought he might be referring to that. He said that I looked spiffy. That was cool, and I'm grateful that he said that in front of Melissa. Thanks man! We talked until we got up to Norman and went in. Melissa told me that Norman is her grandfather's name!
I grabbed the door, and we went in. There were all of the little German one people sitting on the floor in the hallway studying. I finished up my Pepsi as we sat down next to Fran‡oise and talked for a second. Melissa and I then went over a few things in her book. Our favorite friend Steve came and sat next to her and she made her hand into a gun and shot him when he was looking the other way. We reconfirmed her hatred towards him later. We soon went inside and got us some seats towards the middle of the auditorium. I knew that we'd have to sit in alternating seats, but I sat next to her in the meantime. We talked until Elaine and the other teachers finally decided to give us the exam. I did look over and see Nicole from Beaty East, and Derek Maddux! He saw me, but we never did get a chance to talk. I also saw Cynthia and Nicole from class, but I wouldn't dare talk to them over Melissa.
The exam ended up be pretty easy, but I'm sure it was hard for all of those poor souls who barely studied. There was one translation where we had to write out the time 10:15. In German you either say 'ten before ten' for 9:50 or 'ten after ten' for 10:10. We always say 'zwanzig vor elf' for 10:40 at the beginning of class when she would ask what time it was. But I couldn't remember how to say 'after' for the life in me. Thus I wrote 'fnfundvierzig vor elf' which means 'forty-five before eleven' or 10:15. It's right although very awkward. I thought it was funny, and drew a little smiley face after it. Melissa couldn't quite think up the translation either, and when she heard my solution she cracked up and gently punched me on the shoulder. She said that it was a great idea and was really good. It was pretty funny!
We both walked up and turned our papers in at the same time, said goodbye to Elaine, and took off. She had an idea about where to eat. It's a little restaurant crammed between a bike shop on University and Barnett Bank where Jon always goes. It's called Fahrer's or something. She said that I definitely need to go there sometime if we don't go. SHe then came up with a great idea that I never would have thought of, Wendy's! I knew it was there, but never really thought about it. That'll be a good place for Tama and I to go on Thursday. She charged her's, like everything she'd bought lately, although I did offer to treat. She has a blue Pontiac Grand Am and drives almost like I do. I told her that I'd like to see her behind a Mustang and she agreed that she likes to drive hard.
We ordered our food and then we went outside and sat on one of the little orange and blue picnic tables out in front. It is a really nice night outside, even though it is the middle of December. From the condiment counter she looked back at me and sighed saying that they're out of ketchup. I went back and asked the guy for some, and he gave me a handful of packets. She thought that was sweet. We reflected back about our entire German semester. We brought up 'dunklebunt' again and she told me that it was hilarious and that it definitely brightened up her day many times. I was glad. We also talked a lot about her. She was talking about her grandparents and parents and I was looking at her very compassionately. I did notice a glisten in her eyes. Poor girl! We laughed and joked a lot as well and had much more fun than the last time we went to dinner. We did try and agree that we wouldn't speak German any more! She was sarcastically yelling at me, 'Speak English dammit!' That was a little joke of ours back in class.
On the way home we listened to They Might Be Giants on a tape of hers. Some of their songs are really funny and we were laughing pretty hard. We were listening to The Doors on the way over, and I actually kept catching myself enjoying them. When we got back to her dorm we talked outside for a bit longer. She said that she still definitely wants to come down to Tampa over the break. She said that she has nothing else to do. She was asking me what I am doing over the break for Christmas. I asked her what she would ride on if we went, just to get an idea. She said that she'd definitely go on everything! I like this girl a lot!!! She then said that maybe she'll see me on Saturday. I pouted and said is that all I get for staying for graduation and laughed. I think she was sort of joking. I mentioned that everyone else is leaving and I'll be here all by my lonesome. She said that she doesn't know what I'll be doing, but to definitely give her a call if I wanted to do something with her, like maybe Wendy's again. I joked and asked if she didn't mean 'Vendy's' pronouncing Wendy's in German. We laughed and talked a bit longer before saying bye.
It worked out so amazingly well... I love you Melissa!!!!!

December 14, 1992 - Monday - Call from Kimmeth, Kim
December 14, 1992 - Monday
Well, it's the middle of Monday already and I've been doing a bit of studying for my final exams this week. I finished rereading the first two hundred and twenty pages of my German book on Friday and Saturday. I have it down pretty good. I've also did some work on Calculus yesterday as well.
I called home at around six to catch up on everything. I found out that it saves a lot of time if you make a list of important stuff before you call. It also helps you to make sure that you don't forget anything as well. They received some more financial aid papers that we have to fill out. I told them all about my week, and especially the part with Melissa. When mother had to check their dinner, I got to talk to Cathleen for a few minutes. I asked her if she liked the picture of her at Clearwater Beach that I mailed in my letter last Wednesday. She did. Mother also told me that I received a big Christmas present in the mail from Tracey! She said that it is wrapped in Christmas paper on the outside, and obviously had to go through customs. She was surprised that it made it in as good a condition as it did. She also said that it was too big to fit in the mailbox, so the mailman actually had to bring it to the door.
Jon, Chris and I were watching a movie called K2 on the school channel last night when I got a pretty unsuspected phone call. At first I figured that it might be Melissa. She was quiet when we said hello, and it didn't click for a second that it was Kim!!! She was writing letters and didn't know quite what to say to me, so she decided to call. It was somewhere around 9:45 when she called, and she later said that she set a time limit, and was only going to talk until 10:20. I was happy to be worth that much.
We caught up on everything that each other has been doing since we last talked. I think that was at Denny's way back on October 16th. I was going to call her back on Sunday to say goodbye but I got a bit sidetracked by Abby. When I told her that I had been back since then, she said fine, she was going to hang up now since I didn't call her then. I begged her not to. She then said that actually she was calling from right next door to surprise me, but forget it now! Smart ass! We laughed and then I told her that I didn't stay home long at Thanksgiving and didn't want to bother her on a family day! Right. I just didn't want to seem too 'eager'! I asked her to forgive me and she said OK. I asked her about her little boyfriend at USF. She said that she only went out with him twice before he sort of gave her the brush off. She said that they ended up going out once more but nothing came out of it at all. Her ex from St. Louis also has moved back to St. Petersburg. She said that he called and begged her to go back out with him but she said definitely not. There's a little bartender that she likes but he has a girlfriend. Darn. When she asked me what else is up lately, I told her that I had a birthday. When she suddenly remembered she did seem a bit sorry that she had forgotten. That was good. I told her all that I did, and about getting my little six-pack of Moosehead. She has a new job now working at a heat treatment plant. They heat treat parts for all kinds of stuff including missiles. She mainly works as a receptionist and secretary and says that she really like it because it's easy. She only makes five dollars an hour but they let her work forty hours a week. She wants to stay there at least until her car gets paid off. We were talking about the last time we talked to each other, and I said that it was pretty close to when she got fired from Busch Gardens. She quickly corrected me that she got laid off, not fired. When I told Jon later that I haven't talked to her since back around when she got fired, he laughed and said it's more like she got laid off, isn't it? I thought it was funny that they both corrected me like that.
I did mention that I still have four passes, and she said that she still has one. She said that we'll have to go over Christmas break and I heartily agreed. When it was nearing out time up, I said that I'd call her when I get home, I guess after Christmas because she said that she'd be driving down to Ft. Lauderdale this coming up weekend. She said not to wait that long and also wished me good luck on my exams. She had one last story to tell me, so I told her to write it! She said that it wouldn't be long, but I told her that it's just the point of receiving a letter that counts. So hopefully I'll get that soon. It was a really good conversation. I'm estatic that she called!!!
I woke up early this morning and went to the University Copy Center to pick up a copy of the sample Physics Lab exam. It has the answers already, and since the exam is open everything, I figured that it might be useful. My exam was in Turlington at ten. It's a very open building with many entrances and many good outdoory places just to hang out and study. I went and found one near the room and started to read the sample exam. It couldn't have been more than three minutes later when suddenly Kim walks up. I was immensely glad that I had picked the right entrance to sit in. We talked for a few minutes and I told her to sit down. She said that its two cold and dragged me into the Marston library across the walkway. I complained that it's too cramped and too quiet, so that we wouldn't be able to talk. She said not to worry about it, that we'd be able to. And we did, for fifty minutes. I did finally ask her who she lives with, and she said her boyfriend. Uhhhggg! Oh well. That means she counts as a good friend.
We walked over to the exam at ten and it ended up being very easy. It was written to be much easier than the sample exam which was good. I had plenty of time to read the stuff I brought with me to double check my answers. Kim and I finished at about the same time. She had to walk to her car out by the O'Connell Center to get her Physics books because her real exam is tonight. I walked with her and we talked because I didn't have anything else to do for the day. She has a pretty nice newer emerald Mitsubishi Eclipse. When we did finally get back towards GPA, I was telling her how I'm going to miss my classes this semester because of the little friends I have made, including her. We then wished each other a Merry Christmas, and she told me to make sure that I call her when the new semester starts.

December 10, 1992 - Thursday - Melissa Aubin!!!
Damn, I'm having a shitload of good luck since Girish's decision last night. Mainly, because my world is revolving around Melissa right now.
I had a Physics quiz this morning in third period, which starts at 9:35, and was then supposed to meet Cynthia and Melissa at Melissa's room at ten to go over our dialogue. I had forgotten about the quiz when we made the plans, but didn't really care to change it. I figured I'd just do as much of the quiz as I could in the time I had, and then take off. I usually finish way early anyway. here's a really good system to taking the quizzes and tests in Physics. If you copy down the sample problems in the chapter onto your cheat sheet, there will be many problems that are almost identical. Along with my background from high school, I can do really well very easily. That happened on this quiz. It was exactly like a sample problem. It took only five minutes to finish and I'm almost positive that it will be my first ten out of ten. That's awesome. Plus I made it to Yulee five minutes before ten. What luck!
After I locked my bike on the rack, I walked over to the double doors where Melissa always meets me. I told Cindy where that was yesterday in class because Yulee is a pretty big place. Melissa walked out just as I got there. We talked for a few minutes, and I told her about what happened in computer. We then went walking around looking for Cindy just to make sure she wasn't lost. We ended up walking back to the doors, and she came up just as we did. I wore one of the new shirts that Jonny gave me over Thanksgiving. It's a brand new thick canvas shirt with red, green, black, and white stripes running up and down. Mema had just bought it for him and it still had the tags on it. It's really nice and I was going to save it for possibly a date, but it looked so festive that I decided to wear it sort of for our dialogue.
We went up to Melissa's room and did our dialogue a couple of times. We kept screwing up and laughing. Melissa asks for popcorn in the skit, so I had her pop a bag. It was mainly since I didn't have any breakfast, because I figured that we wouldn't use it in the dialogue anyway. It was good. I then said that one of us would probably end up choking on popcorn as we tried to speak our lines. The three of us ended up walking down to the little store and buying Cokes before class. We kept doing our dialogue as we were walking around. We were being pretty loud, and it would have looked like we were actually having a real conversation to the many people walking around us. It was funny.
In class, Elaine actually brought us doughnut holes and Nicole brought some kind of drink. Elaine was speaking in German about having a party and us bringing food. At least that's what I picked up. I knew that mostly everybody wasn't sure what she was talking about. I told Melissa that I thought she was just rambling again and she laughed. We had our drinks and popcorn to eat as well. I told Elaine that we were going first, and she said OK. A few minutes later, after all of the groups had written their new words on the board, Fran‡oise's group got up and started getting ready. We looked at each other and said oh well, but then Melissa and I half-jokingly complained to Elaine that we were going first. I stood up and told Fran‡oise to sit down, and they actually did. It was funny, but we did get to go first. I did get a bit nervous, my lower lip was quivering, but as Melissa and I put it, we kicked the dialogues ass!!! I made no mistakes and was loud. We did awesome!
It was fun the rest of the period because we didn't have any time to get nervous and we just got to sit there and eat and watch the other dialogues. I believe that ours had the least mistakes, if any. Elaine said that we did very well when we asked at the end of the class. Melissa gave me the bag of popcorn, and I kept the two of them well fed. After a while, I sat the bag in my lap, and Melissa continued to stick her hand in getting popcorn. It might not of looked to good on her part, but I liked having her hand where it was. I know for a fact that some of the guts across the room noticed. I quite often catch them looking at her, and am glad that I'm the one she sits with. I love being the guy with the cute girls in that class. All but Nicole, who I could have easily had if I had only tried, but I quite possibly could have forfeited Melissa, so I'm glad that I didn't!
Our exam is Tuesday night at 5:30, and I asked if we are going to walk over together. She said sure, and to come over at five. I started getting sentimental at the end, and joked with Melissa about it. We also talked with Pong and Fran‡oise about how it was a great class and we're definitely going to miss it. I definitely am.
Melissa had to go to the computer lab after class, but first had to go back to her room to get her disk. I decided to go with her just to be with her. I used the excuse that I wanted to print something up anyway.
Then came the clincher. Her grandfather was on his motorcycle yesterday when a seventeen year old kid in a Cherokee hit him. Her grandfather is now in a coma, and has a large blood clot in his brain as well as internal hemorrhaging. She loves him like a father, she had told me this before as well. Now she's going back to Tallahassee over the weekend to see them. She won't be allowed into the intensive care unit, but she's worried about her grandmother as well. She showed me a picture of them on her TV before we left. She told me that I am the first person she has told this to. I told her to make sure and call me when she gets back and tell me what's going on. I also told her to make sure that she drives carefully. She said that she will on both accounts. She told me how her father called last night. She said that he never calls her at the University, so she asked him what he wanted. The way he told her is that he guessed her grandfather is cured of his little motorcycle habit. That pissed her off. It did me, too. I want to know what this guy's problem is? She did also tell me that she realizes that once an old person goes through something like this, he won't ever be the same.
She has been keeping a good outlook though, and has been pretty jovial. She continued on this way the entire time I was with her. We tried finding her a computer but couldn't. She told me that she was just going to wait in the room until one became free. I then went and printed up a couple of things on a vax machine, and then returned to her. I told her that my stuff is printing out. Even if it was ready in five minutes, I was in no hurry whatsoever. A computer soon became available and she got on it. I pulled up another chair. We talked about a lot of things while we were there. She had to print forty pages so we had plenty of time. It wouldn't start printing because the online button wasn't pushed. When it didn't start printing she asked me what's wrong. Instead of her having to go ask a circa worker how to fix it, I just leaned over and fixed in no time. It was good to feel useful by her.
We looked at her thesis for a few minutes. She had an appendix with many classical Greek names in it. She told me to imagine naming my kids any of these. We were then going through them picking out names that would sound cool for a kid to have. It was funny. We were also talking about dreaming again. She said that her dream really did scare her enough that she needed to call me and talk to me about it. She was in my dreams last night. I told her that, but I didn't tell her that she had a new boyfriend in my dream and was kissing him in front of me. After a while she told me that I don't need to stay with her if I don't want to. She already knew that I have the rest of the day off, so I told her that I could either go home and dream about her, or stay and actually talk to her, and I vote for the later. It was funny.
I was then looking in my notebook. I had taken all of the stuff that I might want to show Melissa and had stuck it in. I let her and Cindy read my article that I wrote for the Tampa Tribune. I also showed her my little pen pal stuff and she liked those. I asked her if she will write to me as soon as she gets settled in over in London. She said definitely, that she really likes to write. I said that I do, too. She also asked me if I wanted anything from London. I first asked her to bring me my pen pal, that I'd like to meet her, but then said that I'd worship anything English that she sent me. I wrote down both my address here and my permanent down in Tampa. I also gave her the phone number for each. She later did the same for me.
She also asked me about my wanting to go to Mannheim. She said that if it's this summer while she's in Athens, then we should definitely get together sometime in Europe. That blew my mind, it would be unbelievable!!!!!
We were also talking about graduation. When she found out that I'm really staying, she seemed somewhat happier. She was telling me about the really nice dress she has along with a pair of platform shoes. She joked that she will be the only girl up there in platform shoes. She mentioned about how now her grandparents won't be here for graduation, so now it's only a formality. I told her that still I'd have to take a picture or two and mail it to her in London. She laughed and said no. I then joked that she'll have to smile really big and poof out her hair. She laughed and said, 'Say dunkelbunt!' and we both cracked up. She also turned to me and said that she really does like my shirt. I had told her about Jonny's accident and all, and told her that it was my birthday present from him.
I also asked about Busch Gardens and she said that she still definitely wants to go. She said that she's wide open all of Christmas break. Any other girl and I would have made a perverted joke but I held back. That's another reason why we have each others' phone numbers. I asked her how we are going to do this, and she said that she'd drive down. That will make it better. I don't want her to have to drive that far by herself, but there aren't many other options. It will be fun though. Possibly it will turn out that she spends the night at our house. Hmm. She is truly my best friend right now!

December 9, 1992 - Wednesday - Cheating!, Tama, Melissa
I learned a very valuable and scary lesson this week. It scared the shit out of me for a while. When Tama and I looked at the scores file, we saw that we had zeros on assignment four, and so did Bryan. I knew that we sent it correctly. Tama set up for us to go talk to Girish on Tuesday and take in our printouts of both assignments two and four. We had never turned in number two after we sent it incorrectly. I had a strange fear that maybe Girish pulled our programs and was going to accuse us of cheating, and I joked about that. Tama said that it probably isn't. We worked on assignment six which counts as ten percent of our final grade. She had to take her cat to the vet at five thirty, and I figured on maybe meeting Melissa if she came down to work on her thesis, so I stayed and told Tama that we'd come back later that night to work on the programs. When she left, we were both finished except for some small typing errors that still had to be worked out. This time around, I had a really fun idea on how to write this program, which made it completely different than the way that I would help Tama write hers. Bryan finished this program earlier, and gave me the printout that someone had given him. There was a really simple version of a sort, that Girish had written on the board in class. Instead of fixing Tama's, I just stuck in Girish's little sort which ended up making all three of our final programs entirely different. This ended up saving my life!
When we went up to his office, and asked about the zeros, he pulled out our three assignments and said that Jeff, the grader found them to be too similar to each other. He wouldn't let me look at the programs, which ended up being a fairly straightforward one that didn't have many ways to write it differently. Since I have basically taught Tama and Bryan any of the special conventions that they know, it would only stand to reason that their style would be similar to mine. That would have been my argument if I needed one. He then said something about how Bryan's and my answers were also similar on the tests (perhaps he meant quizzes). This really pissed me off because we have never really been anywhere near each other, and right then I knew he was full of bullshit! Bryan is a good programmer and could definitely come up with the same stuff I do. I could only imagine if there were any more smart people in the class. Girish would freak.
I have never been more pissed off before in my life. At the end of our little meeting, Girish said that he would speak with his superiors on the matter of a grade. The realization that I should have taken the paper, and the zero soon set in, because this, even so small, could be a serious problem even to the extreme of being kicked out of college. I was in a very violent mood, and would have killed the bastard if that would have happened. Jeff too. I later figured that I wouldn't kill him because I wanted to leave him in incredible pain for the rest of his life! I was VERY PISSED!!! If my German dialogue would have been today, I'm sure I would have fucked up, just because of the stress and worry.
We went to class today, and stayed the entire two hours. We reviewed sample tests from before, and I took a very active part. To speed things along, I would pop out with answers and solutions to the problems right away, that would have normally taken the class forever to figure out. I was laughing and being very 'friendly.' I also was having fun with Tama. We were writing notes on her paper. I kept writing little sentences in German. She was writing all kinds of cutdowns about Girish. She wrote that she was bored and then wrote, 'I need something fun to do!.' She was writing everything in bubble letters so it took her a while. I was making jokes about what she needs, and then said if she isn't shy, we could go out right now and I'd give her something fun to do. We laughed.
The other day, when we were talking about her having sex with her theater TA for a grade, I told her that she can go ahead and sleep with Girish as well and leave me out of it. We laughed and she said that there's no way in hell, that she definitely has her limits. She then said that she'd sleep with me if I'd take her final. I pondered it for a second, and then asked if that would really be a reward. My usual sarcastic self. I was pissed off later for not saying anything beneficial. This was Monday. When we decided to go back at nine, I had actually already sent her program and mine as well, but I wanted to spend more time with her. I told her that I was thinking about our little deal in the shower, and figured out a foolproof way to take her exam for her. She laughed and was a bit interested in the fact that I was thinking about her in the shower. My idea was for me to take two exams as Girish passes them out, and her take one, and then just take the both of them. It would have worked, if we hadn't of gotten busted now. I'M VERY SERIOUSLY GLAD THAT WE DID, BECAUSE IF WE HAD GOTTEN CAUGHT ON THE FINAL: IMMEDIATE EXPULSION!!!!! I won't do anything like this again, or at least I will be much more careful.
Anyway, on the way to the lab Monday night, I said something about how I wouldn't even have to think twice about taking a chance like that if I got to sleep with her. It wasn't quite like that, much more fluent. She actually thought it was sweet, and I thought it was funny. I complained today that I'm losing out the most on the whole deal, and she said not to worry, it's not over yet! I'd enjoy fucking her! We talked about Basic Instinct after seeing it Sunday night. The sex was a very interesting conversation piece.
After class today, we had to fill out more evaluations on the class, and he was leaving so that we could. Tama and I got up and chased him to the back door. Two other people came to ask him questions as well. I told them to go ahead, as did Girish. Tama was intent on getting credit, but I realized that whatever he says now will be what stands, else we could be in serious shit. I was ready to grab her shoulder and pull her away if she even objected the slightest bit. Girish told us that if he did what his supervisor suggested, we would be in a very bad situation, but he wasn't going to. Right then we were interrupted by this fat bitch and he told her to hurry up and ask what she needed to ask. He then told us again how bad off we'd be, but that he is only going to take twenty points off and give us eighty out of a hundred on the assignment. I immediately thanked him very gratefully as the whole world was removed from my shoulders and I realized the extent of what he had done. I was ready to deck tama if she said anything, but this was too good to believe. We both thanked him again and he left. I filled out an evaluation, rating Girish with straight perfects! I almost could have kissed him! He was my favorite teacher for the moment!
Tama and I were talking later about how I'd bet money that Girish reviewed our latest assignment for similarities, and when he found none, he mad his decision. I'm so glad something told me to make them completely different. We almost danced in each others arms, I was so relieved, because I was scared shitless. She said that she knew that I was and put her arm around my shoulder as we walking down the hall, rubbing my back, telling me that she knew it'd be OK. I had my arm around her as well for a moment. I thought about last night as I got on the elevator, and two of Tama's roommates were in there. They asked me if I got screwed as well in the class, and when I said yes, they told me to make sure that I got the credit no matter what the cost is to Tama, since I did the work. I thought it was funny. But I fully agreed.
Monday night on the way home from class, the night we had been talking about sex, we were walking along the sidewalk back to Beaty. Many of Beaty's windows have Christmas lights in them and it looks pretty. We were commenting about how it doesn't feel like Christmas at all though. I mean, it's warm enough for shorts and a T-shirt. Anyway, it was already past ten and was pretty dark. There were these two girls in the field with four bull terriers. The two big ones came running at us growling and snapping. Tama let out a slight shriek and grabbed on to my shoulder. I stopped and the dogs barked at us but didn't mess with us. We started walking again, and the others were on the sidewalk ahead of us fighting. I put my hands on Tama and slowly glided her off of the sidewalk around the dogs. I believe my right hand was accidentally on her tit, but oh well. She sort of jokingly yelled at me for trying to make her walk where the dogs just took a crap. It was funny.
Well, enough about Tama, how about the greatest love of my life! Melissa! We've been hitting it off very well this week. She mailed me a graduation announcement form all of the way across the street. It looks really nice. I thought it was funny that she mailed it, but I liked it a lot. In the paper, there was a little advertisement for a get together for Eta Sigma Phi, her classical honor society. It said, 'Socializing Greek style is the key to eternal happiness...' Chris found it first and asked me if I had seen Melissa's name in the paper. Today in class I asked her if she is eternally happy yet and we joked around about it. She wore a white and red blouse today that was very revealing in the front. She seemed to be showing off to me and I liked what I saw very very much! We were also talking about going to Busch Gardens again. She's so fun.
As we walked out of class today, I said something in response to her that ended up not sounding to funny. She didn't hear me so she said, 'What?' I just shrugged, said, 'nothing,' and sort of smiled. She made a pouting noise and I laughed and said, 'What?' sort of complaining that she was whining. She actually mocked me and shrugged saying, 'Nothing,' in a really cutesie voice. It was really funny! I like her so much!!! Elaine asked me again today if I wanted to dress up as Santa Claus, because the language department has an outfit. I said that I'd take the hat if she can find it.
I had a lot of fun as class started today. Nicole came early and we actually started talking a lot. I was happy that she and I were actually talking for a change. I was really hyper and was pacing around. Cynthia noticed it, and made fun of me. I was also talking to her before class, and then to Fran‡oise for a while. I then even talked to Nicole some more. I was happy. Stud me! I can't wait until the new semester. I'm going to study hard, and make as many new girlfriends as possible. As soon as Melissa came in, I went straight for her and we talked. Yesterday, she received the proofs from her graduation pictures. She didn't really like the that much. I asked to see them, and she didn't want me to, so I practically raped her until she let me see them. Class had already started, and Elaine was walking around asking questions, but she left us alone as I coaxed Melissa into giving me the pictures, and as I looked at them. There were some pretty good ones, but some were made pretty airheaded like with a big fake smile and her hair all poofed out. She was in the newspaper today with a really good picture of her. I bragged to everyone I that I could. It congratulated her for being an outstanding four year scholar, one of three, and listed her many societies and activities. I was extremely impressed. Go Melissa. I'm really going to miss her.
I actually went to Calculus today, only to find out that class is canceled for today and friday. He did write that he would talk to anybody during class hours in his office. I have never talked to anyone in there before, until today. I asked him when the exam is, and then we started talking and ended up going to Robinson's office to double check the place and time. There was one other person there so we got a private little tutorial. It was neat. It was the first time I've really talked to him. I'd like to get to know my professors much earlier next semester. Anyway, it turns out that my exams are evenly spaced as to make them very easy. I have one a day until Thursday, when the second and last one is computer which will be a breeze. I also found out that the Physics is not cumulative, thank God! Neither is the Calculus! Actually there is a cumulative part, but it is optional, and would take the place of your lowest test grade. That's really cool. Robinson actually remembered that it would be my first test that I'd replace. I was impressed. I found out that he is teaching Calculus III Honors next semester, so now I really want to take it!
I also received a new pen pal today! Her name is Natalie Frank and she lives in Breman, Germany. That's awesome! Bremen is a city in northwest Germany, on the Weser River, southwest of Hamburg. It's twice as big as Tampa by population.
I recieved a letter from my family the other day. Chrissy's part was hilarious. I was cracking up as I read it:
Dear Dan,
We decorated the tree yesterday with out you. But it still looks nice anyway. I was also student of the month yesterday.
Love Cathy
Dear Dan 12-3-92
Did you find your social security card? Have you been to McDonalds? It's cold here, too.
Love, Mother
P.S. Be Sure To Study!

December 7, 1992 - Monday - Melissa, Her bad dream
How that girl invigorates me so! Even the thought of her late at night fills me with so much energy. This excess causes me not to need lots of extra sleep like I use to. She's better than a caffeine high! I laughed as I wrote that! What a parallel to love!
It's almost three o'clock and I was taking a nap before going with Tama to computer. Earlier today in German, Elaine gave back our dialogue that we turned in to her last Thursday. She made plenty of corrections and I have already typed them in and will make print outs later today on computer lab. Before I took my nap, I turned the telephone ring to high to make sure it would wake me up if I got a call. I was thinking about how if I get a phone call, that it will definitely be from tama, because nobody calls me in the middle of the day like now. I woke up once at two-thirty figuring maybe Tama was calling early. It was Chris' sister though so I took a message. About ten before three, the phone rang once, bit then it stopped. I said 'shit' to myself just thinking about another phone call that I'm not getting. Then I realized that perhaps Jon answered it, and he had, and it was for me!!! I figured it to be Tama telling me to meet her at class, because she's going somewhere else first. I was wrong. I am rambling...
It was MELISSA!!! My most favourite, most beautiful female friend ever!!! She just had a dream that we all three knew our dialogues cold, but we kept screwing up really badly, and ended up failing. It was funny. She just called me to tell me about her dream. We talked about our German a bit longer and some about her thesis. I know that she usually works on it at nights down at CSE. Since I will be down there forever working on my homework assignment with Tama tonight, I asked her if she'd be there, too. She wasn't sure at first if she'd be there, but I think she sort of changed her mind and decided that she would be there. I told her that I'd take the extra effort to look on all of the computers to see if she's there. She said that is good, and then said that she'd sit me down and let me work on her thesis. I had mentioned earlier about missing writing. We were joking about me helping her do it.
I told her that I definitely want it to be good so that I can be proud of my little Melissa as she graduates with highest honors. She said today that she will give me a graduation announcement soon. I told her that if I get to go, I will cheer and clap the loudest for her, and she said that she hopes somebody will, because her parents probably won't. I found out that it's her father who is the worst of the two. I said that I'd carry one of those screamers with me and set it off as she graduates, and she laughed and told me that they'd haul me out on my butt before I'd have any say in the matter. She then said that if she has any more dreams, then I'll be the first to know, and we said goodbye.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Of course I didn't run into her in the computer center. Nothing ever happens if I write it in my journal first. Hopefully that will soon change. Tama called me at three-thirty and asked if I'd be ready to go to class at four. We met downstairs and walked to class. We took the sidewalk in front of Yulee just for the slight chance that Melissa might be there and see me. On the way, she was telling me about her weekend, and she told me about a lingerie party at one of the fraternities this weekend. She said that she ended up running into her theater TA at the party and would do anything with him to get a bit of help on the final. It was funny.

December 3, 1992 - Thursday - Melissa, Cindy
I've gotten a whole hell of a lot done lately, and most of it is important stuff too! I continued the completion of my financial aid applications. I also got a letter in the mail today from UF's financial aid department that they have received my financial review from Princeton, which is the most important part. I wrote Tracey a letter Tuesday night and sent it out this morning. I included three of my new pictures inside. One is of Cathleen and I lying in the water at Sand Key.
Yesterday in German, Melissa, Cindy and I decided to meet in my room at seven. At seven I got their call that they were downstairs. Melissa said it in such a way that they were expecting me to be downstairs waiting for them at seven. For some reason the little pacifists waited outside and didn't walk in when any of the many people there had opened the door, despite the cold. We all crammed into the elevator and as we got off on my floor, Jen and a few other people were waiting and I said hi to them. I felt special walking in with two attractive girls by my side. Tama and I had gone to computer class earlier today and I told her that I had to make sure that I was home early, because I was having a couple of guests. She asked if they were male or female, and I said female. I also talked to Nicole for a minute while I was walking with Tama. Oh well. I hope that didn't bother her.
Anyway, we walked into my room, I showed them around, and introduced them to Chris and Jon. Chris was in my room on the computer writing a report for social problems so we went back into the other room and sat on the stools around the counter. Speaking of reports, Chris got a hundred on his rain forest report that I helped him do. That was the one that I let him use my poetry that I wrote back in AP English at the end of his paper. He said that he was letting this girl that he was sitting near read it, and she said that it is some really powerful stuff. I felt special:
Before Cindy and Melissa came over, I changed into my light jean shorts, socks, and took off my undershirt just leaving my flannel shirt. It's a nice one that Jonny just gave me that's blue and brown. I sort of wanted to show off as much of myself that I could while still looking 'cute.' I asked them if we had decided what our dialogue was going to be about yet and Melissa seemed to already have it all planned out. She said that she and Cindy were going to take me out and manipulate me into paying both of their ways. It was funny. Of course I agreed to be manipulated by them in as many ways as possible. We had a good time writing it too. There were certain phrases that we would say that would just sound so silly that we'd start cracking up. One was the word 'spaĆ”' which means fun but sounded really silly the way we were using it. Chris, by that time, was sitting at the counter reading a book for one of his classes. He turned around and looked at Melissa's ass, sort of motioned the shape of them with his hands in the air, and mouthed a frustrated moan like he wanted to fuck the living daylights out of her. I smiled at him and said, 'Yeah, I know. Didn't I tell you so?' He said that he guessed so I said, 'Oh, it must have been Jon that I told.' It was funny because I was saying this nice and loud in front of both of them, and they hopefully thought it was just an innocent little conversation between me and Chris. Well, if Melissa wanted to take it as a sexual compliment by me, then she's more than welcome.
It ended up that I just got off work and made a lot of money. They then ask me to the movies and make me pay, they then start asking for food, so I take them out to eat, and then we go shopping. At the end I sort of exasperately run off because they've used me for all of my money. We kept talking about French fries so much, that I pulled out my bag of curly-Q's and cooked up a big batch. Cindy said at first she didn't want any, but as soon as Melissa and I had picked one up, she dug in as well. I knew she would, so I made plenty. They turned out perfectly and tasted really good. When Elaine was talking about the dialogues in class, she said that we are welcome to use props and can make them festive. She said that for example, I would make a good Santa Claus. I looked at her and said, 'What?!' and she then said that I'm tall and skinny. She then said that we could stuff me up with lots of pillows, like she was being serious. Melissa and I agreed that it must be one of Elaine's perverted little fantasies and we laughed. We thus incorporated this into our dialogue by making my job be playing Santa Claus at the mall. That's how I made all of my money.
When we had finished, we sat around and talked for quite a while. We gossiped about practically everybody in the class. We completely tore apart Steve, poor guy. They really hate him. Melissa told me how he was trying to talk to her while she was buying breakfast the day before and she essentially told him to stop bothering her. It made me feel good that I am liked by them so much more than anyone else in the class. I had noticed just yesterday that Elaine hasn't asked Melissa any questions lately. We were talking about the questions she asks, and Melissa brought that up. I told her that I noticed that, too. She said that she's glad she isn't the only one thinking that. She thinks that Elaine hates her, I hadn't really thought about it that way, but by some of the things Elaine does, it might make sense. I told Melissa that it's because she always laughs at Elaine. Melissa jokingly argued that I am the one that usually says bad things about her. We told Cindy about our Dunklebunt joke. Dunklebunt means 'dark - multi colored' and is sort of a word I made up, but it is hilarious and Melissa and I always crack up when we use it.
About two hours after we started, we decided to wrap things up. I escorted them downstairs, still in my socks, and without a jacket. I ended up walking Melissa home. The ground was wet so I pulled off my socks, it almost seemed like it had warmed a little, but it was still freezing. We talked and joked the entire way home and left each other laughing, which put me in a very hyper, happy mood. When I got back, Chris started telling me what a gorgeous, perfect body Melissa has, and all of the things that we could do with a girl as perfect as her. He was thoroughly impressed, and I told him that's why I'm so in lust with her, and that's why I so look forward to going to German each day!
I typed our dialogue onto the computer afterwards, and then carried it down to CSE this morning to print it out. It took me a few minutes to g et their pieces of shit printers to print the special characters, but it finally worked. I also was under the impression that we might have a Physics quiz in discussion today, so I went there as well. It turns out that it's not until next Thursday, thank God. But I did see, and get to talk to Kim for a little bit before I left. Melissa, Cindy and I chatted in German during fourth period. We were studying for a quiz that we took during class. She said that she want's to look over our dialogues soon, and that she still hasn't seen anyone's yet. So we pulled out a beautiful type copy, and handed it to her. She seemed impressed. We then got to fill out evaluations for the class. I gave her a very good one, because she has been such a good teacher, and because I've had such a good time in the class. But of course, a lot of that has to do with Melissa.
After class, we headed down to the convenience store so she could get a bagel and a drink. I walked around behind her as we walked out of class. When she turned around to make sure I was with her, she didn't see me, and grabbed the door to see where I was. It was funny when she realized her mistake and saw me behind her. We then walked home. She normally would have class, but I helped convince her not to go. In front of Yulee, I told her that I found a graduation present for her. She perked up and asked me what. I told her that it would take an entire free day though between now and December 31st. Then I told her that I have a couple of Busch Gardens tickets if she would like to go with me. She really liked that and said that she definitely does. As soon as the 19th comes around, she'll have plenty. I really want to go to her graduation. We said that we'd figure out the details later. I was happy!!!
Chris and I then met out in front of GPA at noon to go to Tigert Hall to visit the Study Abroad office. I rode my bike there with Jen, and then got called by and talked to Ed for ten minutes before meeting with Chris. I picked up information on financial aid, studying in England, and an application for the summer program in Mannheim, Germany that I would love more than anything. Good luck to me!

The eagle, soaring high up in the sky,
And wonders why,
His homelands were gone,
And his family has died,
Now there are houses...
And he is too lost to cry.
The panther slides through the woods,
Searching for a catch,
To feed his brood.
Up ahead... a break in the trees,
The concrete is rough,
It hurts his feet.
The lights were blinding,
So very bright,
And then it was over...
Her litter will starve tonight.
Society has done it all,
Has moved in too close to nature,
And is causing its fall.
Its lands are destroyed,
And its waters polluted.
We must move to save our lands,
Get together and join our hands,
We must teach the uneducated to understand,
That our children will be the next victims,
Of the carelessness of man.
