Here he comes, here comes speed racer, he's a demon on wheels! Just a fucked up new song that would be awesome to dance to in a club. The last half is just two people having sex, moaning really loud. It's pretty funny.
Speaking of sex, I just talked to Kimmeth on the phone a little while ago. I called her first, but she was on the phone and called me back a little while later. It wasn't until half way through our talk that she realized that I was supposed to be paying for this call, so we hung up and I called her back. She told me about how she's actually cheated with a married man. It was Max, though. He met another girl, also named Kim. She thinks that he was seventeen, and the other Kim was twenty-four when they met. I thought that was funny. He ended up marrying her but would still see Kim when he came into town. She was really good friends with his dad, and people used to think that he was doing her. Once while she and Max were legitimately dating, Max told her that it was OK, just as long as she kept it in the family. She says that she should have dumped him then. She made a vow about a year ago to not ever see Max again, and if he ever persisted she would definitely tell his wife. She had to make some sacrifices, including severing her relationships with his father, and his best friend, for they were good friends as well.
She says that she feels much better off since she made her decision, for she no longer wanted to continue setting herself up for inevitable hurt. I said that her coming and working at Busch Gardens must have been quite a comic relief. She laughed and said that it definitely was, it was so 'happy' and had no real responsibilities unlike real life. I told her that she did seem pretty happy when I would see her before I really got to know her. She was talking about her friends who are getting married in Ft. Lauderdale, and how they'd like her to come and live there. She still has that dilemma hanging over her head. I told her that I still think that she should stay in Tampa. She asked, with a chuckle, 'Why's that?' I gave some bull answer, still not having the guts to come right out and say that I like her a lot and would miss her so much if she moved.
She also said that she received the present. She seemed pretty happy about the soundtrack. She also liked the underwear and said that the flowers were the right size. I told her the little story about Jon, Ed and I running around in Oaks Mall that night trying to find a good pair for her present. It was funny. She said that she really liked the card,a nd would have to keep it around for a few years. I liked that and told her so. We talked about my question and she thought it was entertaining that I asked her how long it will be until she starts lying about her age, so that I can catch up. She said that twenty-five seems like an age she could keep for a while.
She said that she had a pretty mellow birthday, spending it with some friends in their house in Ft. Lauderdale. It was really good talking to her again, and getting to tell her what all I did last night and about going spelunking last weekend. Ed needed to call his parents at their hotel in town, so we said bye, and got off the phone.
Now for my good friend, Emily. I saw her and messed around with her Wednesday in lab. I had fun again which was pretty surprising. Actually I expected to, because of Emily, I was thinking more about last semester and how much I thought I would dread chemistry lab. Afterwards, she was going to play pool at the Reitz. We met up with some freak named Jonathan. I walked pretty far with her, but then said that I wasn't going to go. She seemed surprised that I wasn't going with her, but then we said that we'd see each other in class in the morning. I didn't take much school stuff with me because she has biology after our lecture on Thursdays and I figured that I'd just walk her to class and be on my way. She asked me what I was doing after class, and I told her that I don't have anything until sociology, sixth period. She somewhat quickly decided that she didn't need to go biology that day, so we went to Burger King for two hours and ate and talked.
She called me at 11:30 today, just after I woke up and said that she'd be in the Marston Library all day if I'd like to come and do some chemistry. Jon found out and tried to find out where she'd be, but I wouldn't tell him. I wanted her to myself. As I walked in, she was getting ready to leave for about twenty minutes to eat lunch. I went with her to Burger King and we spent quite a bit longer than we had planned. We had fun though talking about a lot of stuff. She went to the Black Crows concert on Thursday and said that it wasn't to much fun. She also said that they went to a party with about fifteen people, and they all ended up in the bedroom, while the two of them watched Crocodile Dundee in the living room. Every once in a while somebody would pop their head out and ask them if they were having fun. And I complained that she was making fun of me for having no life.
We ended up talking about kids because a black family had their three little kids sitting by themselves at another table. She says that she only wants to have six (she's Catholic!!!) because money is tight, but if I found her a husband with lot's of money, she'd have more. She says that she want a tall, cute, and athletic husband. All I need to do is work on the athletic part. She made some derogatory statement about contraception. I said that Catholics use about fifty contraceptives at once, until they're married, when they completely stop using them. She sort of shook her head and said 'Uh uh' but she seemed to choke up a bit as she did. I'd swear that she's a virgin. All the better. We were later joking about sex. Those few comments seemed to open her up a bit.
We studied quite a while in the library. I actually had fun doing so. I also actually learned the material and was being productive for the first time ever in a library! It's usually such an uncomfortable atmosphere for me, that I can hardly stand being there, no less working there. We were messing around every once in a while, though. I found out that she weighs 150 pounds! She is six one, but I would never have guessed her to weigh that much. I guess she must have a lot of muscle, she's not fat at all, and isn't big out of proportion in any way. Her tits, which are underproprtioned, can't even be accused of weighing a lot. Anyway, I had fun being around her and talking with her again. We'll be back to study some more tomorrow. Damn, she's a good influence! She said that I owe her my life, but I whittled that down to just owing her breakfast.
Jon, Cecil and I went to the Hispanic Student Association meeting Thursday night and became official members. It doesn't feel much different being a spic, though. We mainly went because of the cute girls, but we ended up playing a pretty fun game, having free Coke and pizzas, and actually making a few friends. It was the first organizational meeting that I have ever been to that I have ever been to that has actually ordered enough pizza for everybody! They do accept non-Hispanics into their club as well, obviously, but very few. We went, with Ed, to a party of theirs last night in Spanish Trace. We tried to learn to Salsa with this pretty cute girl. I just wasn't in the right mind to learn it then.
We ate at Taco Bell just before that. I had never been inside one before. There were some pretty cute girls, and I was doing some hard flirting. One girl was so stunning that I wasn't paying attention to my Pepsi and it spilled onto my leg. Luckily nobody really saw it. I was a bit self-conscious about it at the party, but it dried nicely. There is this one really hot girl named Michelle who was at the party and the meeting. She is gorgeous, but I really hate the way spic girls talk so loud and fast. She is older, did I mention that she is gorgeous?, and she was wasted!!! She stumbled past me once and just stood there looking straight up at me. It was a trip. There were quite a few good looking girls there. I met some of them, and kissed the one I danced with good night as we left.
We went and rented a couple of movies, one being a one and a half hour routine by my favorite, Robin Williams. It was hilarious. We watched it until it was close to two, and then headed over to TJ's. We danced until four, before coming home. There were some pretty hot girls, but the place was two-thirds guys, which really sucked. It was probably because it was Friday night instead of Saturday, but I still had fun.

January 26, 1993 - Tuesday - Breakfast with Emily
Boy it's chilly outside. It's raining, too. I dressed up rather nicely this morning and headed out to see Emily in chemistry. We said hello and joked around for a few minutes outside of class before going in. We had talked about going to see Pedro yesterday during third period to ask him some questions about our homework problems. We had a quiz in discussion, and mine wasn't until eighth period. I also was supposed to go to the language lab and do my dialogue for the workbook. But I was lazy, and didn't do either one. I ended up copying the dialogue from chapter six into the spaces for this chapter. It worked as well because I knew that Elaine would go through mine quickly since I had her last semester. Emily first asked me, and then said that she didn't go either. She said that she thought about whether I would go or not, and then figured that Dan and mornings just don't get along. He he. Smart girl.
We joked around about Pedro again just to add humor to the class. We're learning about gases, which I have learned fifty times through physics and even chemistry back in tenth grade. Pedro was talking about how he used to be able to do demonstrations with mercury until they deemed it hazardous. Emily was joking about mercury tasting good, and then was saying that her mother use to let them play with it when a thermometer broke. She kept drawing on me throughout class. I told her at first somewhat sarcastically that she was being pretty rude to someone who is going to treat her to breakfast and we laughed. She gave me a Burger King (BK) 'tatoo' on my ankle. It was cute. She told me that she really is enjoying my bag of Jolly Ranchers, for she started eating them last night. She's also somewhat independent in the fact that she is use to opening doors for herself. I have scorned her enough and we have both learned how to work around each others habits so that I can open the doors for her now. That's better.
As class ended, we walked over to Burger King for breakfast, well actually it was almost lunch. We grabbed a table by the window before we ordered. We got there just as they were finishing up serving breakfast. She ordered a croissant sandwich and tater tots and I ordered a double cheeseburger meal. She thought that I might have been joking about treating, because she carried her wallet with her, but I kept my promise, for which she was very thankful. She asked for a glass of water, which she filled with Sprite. She said that she and her brother used to call it happy water. I thought that was funny. I asked her if she was sure that she didn't want a mercury sandwich to go along with her happy water and we laughed. It started raining pretty hard while we were eating, which sort of screwed with our plans to go to our fifth period classes. We hung out there and talked for quite a while. We joked around about talking about the weather and laughed about that as well.
We somehow started talking about going to beaches and all. She has been to Cresent Beach and St. Augustine on various occasions. I told her that if I still had my car, I'd take her to a real beach. One that actually has sand and not mud, and one that actually has nice water and enough sand/mud to actually be able to be called a seashore. I asked her what she's going to do this Spring break. She said probably nothing, just sit around and watch the grass grow,a nd then asked if I'd like to join her. I said sure, but I'd rather sit around and watch the sand shift. I told her about my sisters' vacation being a week or two off of mine, and how it'll screw up our trip to Blue Ridge. We talked about a lot of other stuff as well. She actually saw and talked to a couple of GIRLS!!! She seems to have drastically cut down on talking about other guys around me, but I don't know. She looked outside and made a lustful noise once. I asked her what it was, and she said nothing and laughed as I saw the blonde frat guy walking with a girl. I made an accusing smile on my face and started laughing as I pretended to backslap her across the face. We laughed about that.
I did tell her that she is pretty much the reason that I get up and go to chemistry and she seemed pleased. We decided to jog to the parking lot around the corner and get her car. I told her that she is pretty good, because she's the first person in a long while that's actually made me run. She laughed and said that sometimes you have to do what you have to do. We talked about me wanting to possibly volunteer at Shands pretty soon, and she thought that was a pretty good idea. She was going over to the Health Center after she dropped me off at Beaty to see a heart removed from a live rabbit, and then connected to a machine that will keep the heart running. I told her to make sure that she doesn't start laughing. I also told her about wanting to start getting more involved extracurricularly and all. We departed both in pretty good moods and laughing, which cheered me up pretty well.
We didn't get to study on Saturday like we thought when we talked Friday night. I called her when I woke up just after twelve. She wasn't home, but I had a brief but funny little interrogation session with her mom trying to find out if she was home, and when she'd be back. Emily did call me back while I was cooking dinner and we decided on definitely studying on Sunday. She ended up going to a soccer game, the sport she likes above all others. I don't think she did that much with Norman Friday night either. Phew. She called me at twelve on Sunday and we decided on her coming by at three after her little calculus help session. She came over and we talked with Ed for a little while. We then drove to Library West and studied on the fourth floor for a little while. It got really nauseous because it was so quiet, so we went to a more casual study lounge in the Reitz Union. We ended up joking around quite a bit, but got really burned out over the problems. It had started raining and we got pretty wet on the way over, and rain always makes people sleepy. We decided to go ahead and leave the rest for later and we went home.

January 25, 1993 - Monday - Cave spelunking!
I can now say that I have been spelunking in the caves of Alachua County. Not only that, but we did it in the middle of the night! It was pretty awesome, once I got the guts to go down.
A bunch of guys came over from Jacksonville on Saturday to come with us. George, Reno, and a couple of Chris' old group, the 'Night Stalkers,' Jason and Mike Palmer came. Chris calls Mike a real pretty boy. I think he's pretty cool. Jon, Chris and I didn't leave for Salem's apartment until almost ten Saturday night. After messing around for a while, and finally convincing everybody to get off of their asses and go, we climbed into the back of two trucks and left. Salem's new roommate, Bedea, came along. He had already been to the cave a few weeks ago and was sort of our guide to get there. I climbed into the back of George's truck with Chris, Mike and Jon. It was almost a forty-five minute trip, two-thirds of which is through cow country and forests in the middle of nowhere. It got pretty chilly in the back of the truck, so three of us were crammed up behind the cab to keep out of the wind.
The caves are out in part of Newberry. There were very few houses or anything for that matter as we got closer. There was also no moon, or city lights, so you could see the stars pretty well. We had heard all about Devil worshipers and people that fuck with your cars while you're in the cave. Bedea and Salem decided before we left that they would wait with the trucks. We found the spot pretty easily, but we couldn't find the entrance to the cave. There were a couple of other holes and entrances, although they were twenty feet straight down or filled with dirt and trash where somebody had tried to fill it. We suddenly saw lights coming and turned off all of our flashlights. It turned out to be this guy all by himself named Otter. He looked pretty repulsive and said that he just came up from staying three months in Miami. He use to live nearby and has been all throughout the caves. He showed us where the entrance was.
I was the last person into the entrance. It's a pretty small opening and is pretty steep at the beginning. You then half to literally get on your stomach and drag yourself for almost fifteen feet. Salem was crying about us leaving a flashlight with him, and he took mine. Jason was in front of me but only had a penlight. It started getting hard to breathe, and I couldn't see worth a shit. All of the flashlights were up ahead and they couldn't shine them back because it was such a tight passage. I said fuck it and turned around and climbed all of the way back out in the pitch black. I went back up with the guys and we talked up there for a little while. Another car or people came up. There were two pretty cute chicks and three guys. They had been before and were carrying cases of beer and shit like that. The girls were already pretty messed up and went off into the woods for a second to pee. They then went down.
Otter told us that our group could probably hear us from one of the holes that went straight down so we went and called to them. They were all just hanging out in the big room right after the crawling part. Our eyes had adjusted pretty well to the darkness and Salem finally gave up the flashlight. I decided to go ahead and go down. I got almost to the room and saw that they had built a fire. I shined my flashlight through the opening into the room and wiggled it around. I heard somebody that somebody is coming so I turned off my light and lay still. It was funny. I then slid down over a big rock into the room. You could easily stand up and it was really cool. I thought before that the so called cave might just be cracks between giant rocks in the ground. I was really surprised when I saw that the caves were actually formed by springs and were pretty smooth. there was a part with water along the ground. I was the first to yank off my shoes and walk through it. It split into a Y and I went both ways to see what it was like. It was really awesome how the caves kept going. The water was knee deep at the deepest point in the center, and I was running all around. They were afraid to get their feet wet and I was glad from my experiences of exploring up in Georgia. I felt very comfortable leading them when they finally convinced everybody to come along.
Being first, I kept seeing all of the cute little bats. They were very similar to the ones at Busch Gardens. Chris never saw them, but if he had, he probably would have run screaming for his life. He swears that bats aim for your head and stick to your hair. He says that then you have to have surgery to get them off. I thought they were really neat, though. We later ran into the other group up in another 'room.' This one guy told us about some pretty cool formations that are in the caves. He borrowed my flashlight and his girlfriend, Mike and I crawled through this tiny hole in the corner floor which opened up somewhat to a passage. It soon became filled with water which we had to crawl through which got us almost entirely wet. I crawled in with this guy's girlfriend and we crawled side to side, pressed against each other, and talking with our faces two inches apart. She was drunk, you could easily smell it.
The guy then kept going as Mike and I decided to turn back because we were running out of light. The bastard wouldn't turn around and give me back my flashlight. We all waited for quite a while back in the room. That fucking asshole actually stole my brand new flashlight that I got for Christmas! I asked his friends what his name is, and they told me. I know that he lives on campus so I think I'll look him up. I let a lot of the air out of one of their tires,a nd would have pissed in their gas tank if I would have thought about it a few minutes earlier. A couple of them were telling me to really fuck up their car, and were going to give me George's knife to do so. Oh fucking well. Shithead!!!
It was rather cold riding all of the way back at one in the morning all soaking wet. It was fun though and I'm glad that I went so that I can say that I have been. I was glad to be able to tell Emily about me doing something physical that she herself hasn't done. Fran‡oise gave me a call last night about German and I told her about going to the caves. She thought that was pretty cool and said that some of her friends went just last weekend, although she has never been. She sounds really attractive on the phone.

January 22, 1993 - Friday - Emily Elise Weber
Not that I want to jinx anything, but I feel that I've found a pretty good friend in Emily. We've spent a good deal of time around each other the past couple of days, studying and what not. I went to chemistry lab on Wednesday actually looking forward to it. She was already there and I tried to sneak up on her but she saw me as I walked up. I took my finger and tickled her side and said hello before putting my stuff back at my station. We tease each other in a very jovial way, she actually does it just as much as I do. It's different. She also will brag about doing something well, just like I do, and I think it's pretty funny, almost cute. We've even gotten to the point now where we'll brag about each other being smart at the same time. How 'sweet.'
Anyway, I am smart enough that I can finish a section of the lab rather quickly and accurately and then go and talk and play with Emily until she catches up. It makes it a much more relaxed atmosphere and cause me to learn better. I'd help her out as well when she needed it and also would talk to a couple of other people in our lab group. I wasn't in any particular hurry, since I wanted to wait and leave with her anyway. She was going to play in this pool tournament for charity at the Reitz Union a little while after class and she asked me if I'd like to come. When I said yes, she seemed a bit surprised, but pretty happy. After class, we walked across the street and got her car, which was the 1972 Oldsmobile 88. We then drove down to the Reitz. We actually started answering some of the lab questions that are due during the next lab. I had Jon's and Ed's lab in my book bag which guided us through it.
As we were doing that, then fucking chemistry-major nerd from hell comes up to us and starts talking to us about chemistry. He says that he recognized the book, and is running a lab help session. He looked completely goofy, and said that he was just hanging out playing video games. Idiot! He just kept on and on and would not shut up! He even gave us his name and number and office number in case we wanted to come. I nicely wrote them down to make him happy, and hopefully send him on his way. He just kept talking. Then, when he looked at Emily, I looked down and started doing more work on the problems letting him just talk to her until he left. It was funny and she realized what I had done, and wished she had thought of it first. We both love making situational fun of people, even more so that Kimmeth and I. Emily and I could just sit there and make fun of any person or group of people that went by. There was a girl bowling down in front of us and she had extremely orange hair. I asked Emily if she knew what color the powdered cheese is in Kraft macaroni. She looked at me weird for a second, and then said yes, knowing that I had a point. I then pointed out the girl and we started cracking up! It was hilarious!!!
About forty-five minutes before the tournament, we went down and started playing a quick game of pool. I really suck, because I never play, and she easily beat me. It wasn't until then that I found out that she is on the university's pool team. They have a South Eastern Conference match on February fifth and she had told me about going to that, but it hadn't really clicked. I got to meet many of her guy 'acquaintances.' She's a real tomboy, and is really active in a lot of sports, and is decent in most of them as I hear. Thus she meets and hangs out with lots of guys, which is about the only thing that I am uncomfortable with if I were to actually pursue her. These two guys, Dan and Chris, were talking around me about Chris telling Emily what Dan had said when they walked in. Dan goes, 'What, that I said she is cute?' So at least she's attractive in other guys' eyes as well. Although it doesn't matter if she's presentable to society, it's her personality that really counts... Ha ha ha ha ha... That's another petty thing that bothers me, she knows too many Dans, and it get's pretty annoying.
I met the girl that organized the little tournament. Her name is Patty and she was heaving out of her shirt quite nicely. SHe didn't really have a clue about how to run the thing, though. She also tried to get me to play to no avail. Later on, when she realized that I was still there, she came and talked to me for a little while during which she asked me if I had come just to watch Emily play. I'm not quite sure what her reaction was when I said yes, but she went away pretty soon after that. I don't know, maybe it'll get me a good word in with Emily. There was this guy who is also on UF's team that is a couple of years older than Emily who played in the tournament. He coaches her although he lost in the first round. They're pretty good friends, but I'm not sure if they'd ever go out just from what I know about her already. It was funny watching her alternate between the two of us to keep us both happy although trying to seem very nonchalant. Later on, when she started losing, she stopped coming to either one of us and would just stand by herself after her turn was up. I would periodically help to cheer her up and get a smile, but she was taking the game a bit too seriously, and we talked about hat later. I was also possibly supposed to study with Jennifer that night, and I called her a couple of times from the Reitz Union, but I figured by then she had already taken off with Noel and/or Derek. Oh well, my time was much better spent with Emily.
Pretty soon after her loss, we took off. It was already past nine which meant I had spent almost four hours with her since we left lab. I talked a bit off sense into her after her loss, and we ended on a rather good note as she dropped me off in front of Beaty. I had fun. Yesterday morning, I got up and dragged myself to chemistry lecture a little early. Actually I didn't have to drag myself, because I knew that I'd get to see Emily. I thought it was funny when I realized that I was actually dressing up and making sure I looked perfect for chemistry lecture! If it weren't for her, I know that I wouldn't go to class very often.
On Tuesday she told me of her love of Jolly Ranchers when I asked her if she'd like a star mint. I found it rather funny that I just happen to have an entire unopened unwanted bag of Jolly Ranchers just waiting in my room. I put them into a cute little white paper bag, and carried to class. I asked her this time if she'd like a Jolly Rancher, and then handed her the entire bag. It was funny. She later said that she was going to eat them on her trip to Alabama, and I said that was good so that she will remember me the entire trip, and we giggled. Well... sort of. Snicker. We sat on the opposite sides of each other this time, and it took us almost half of the period before we were leaning on each other.
I've been pulling out little bits and pieces of Spanish from high school and we can have every limited conversations. She's taken many years and knows it well. We can sort of say things to each other, her in Spanish, me in German, when we don't want the other to know what we are saying but still think that something needs to be said. It's a shame that we both aren't taking the same language because that's a bridge that is very useful to strengthen a relationship, and it's fun. I really want to meet someone German who I can talk to who isn't in my class. That would be interesting.
Anyway, after class, I walked Emily to her Biology class. Kendra rode by and said hello and we argued over who she said hi to for a few minutes because we both know her. It was probably to Emily, because I think she's a bitch. I really didn't want that to be the last time that I got to see her this weekend. She was mentioning that she was going to go play frisbee later on and I told her how Ed and I play every once in a while. She told me that they play out on the Plaza of the Americas and that I should come out there later at about 12:30. I did. I took my towel and went and found me a spot on the grass, pulled off my shoes and socks, and looked like I fit in perfectly with all of the progressive people that hang out there during the day. They were having a little rally to protest the 'New World Order' and had local TV coverage. I sat and read the paper and listened to them for a few minutes. It was hilarious that so much bullshit could flow from the mouths of so few people. They made no sense. It was ridiculous! I just sat there and laughed to myself. There were a hell of a lot of cute girl's there though.
I soon saw Emily and this decrepit guy walking along through the Plaza so I got up and walked over to meet them. There were already two guys playing frisbee in the small area between the library where I met Melissa before dinner one night, and the podium where the speakers were. She had already walked out and missed a pass just as I walked by. It landed at my feet. I picked it up, we said hello, and I slid it through the air back into her arms. I didn't really care to play, I just wanted to hang out for a while to see her. It was really funny because the Krishnas have their little free food line and there were actually crash dummies from the TV commercials out there promoting safety week. All kinds of freaks and weirdos hang out there. Anyway, Emily wasn't really that good, she can either make it fly, or aim it, but not both at the same time, even when she throws it underhand. I'd like to get her out in the field here in front of Beaty sometime and play. That would be fun.
She came and sat on my towel with me to rest when she did, and we talked for a little while. I asked her when does she want to get together and do the chemistry and we decided on later that night. When she was ready, I walked with them towards Turlington. She was going to play pool with this ugly guy and the decrepit was just following her around. It was funny that she had three guys walking with her like that, and since I knew that she was thinking that, we had a pretty good laugh about it later on at dinner. When we got to the bike racks I decided to depart from the ugly little group, so I said goodbye and she said that she'd call me later tonight.
I came home and went to sleep. I woke up just as Chris was getting home and decided to actually read the chapter in chemistry so I'd have at least an idea of what I was doing when we studied later. I was still in my hanging around the house clothes and really looked like I had just waken up with my messed up hair and all. I sat down just as the phone rang, and it was Emily. Not only was it Emily, but she was already downstairs! I tried to figure out which tower she was calling from in my dazed state, and then got dressed in a hurry and went downstairs. She wasn't there. I walked all around my building, and then through the lobby to see if she had called from there. I then walked up to the other building and didn't see her there either. I decided to go back upstairs to see if she had called back or had gone up by herself. I knew that she didn't know my room number, but she uses the campus operator to find out people's phone numbers, instead of memorizing them, so I thought that she possibly figured out my address as well. She hadn't. So I went back downstairs, made the same trip I made the first time, and then walked out to the parking lot to see if I could see her big car. I couldn't, but then I looked to my right to see her sitting outside of Beaty West in front of the column. It blocked me from seeing her from the other side of the doors when I looked the first times. She said that she decided it would be better if she just stayed in place and let me find her.
We went upstairs, and I introduced her to Jon. They recognized each other from being in last semester's calculus class, but they didn't know each other well. We talked for about ten minutes. Ed came out of his room on his way to go somewhere and started babbling about something that didn't really make much sense. Sometimes he's so embarrassing, especially around cute girls. I told him goodbye and sent him on his merry way. We talked a bit longer and then decided that we'd go to Burger King to eat and then study. I threw on a sweater and brushed my hair and we walked over to the Jennings parking lot to get her car. Eating at that particular Burger King was a pretty absurd experience. I have never eaten in that particular restaurant before in the evening. The only other time I had even been in there was breakfast with her on Tuesday. They actually have waitresses that bring you your orders, they serve you popcorn as an appetizer, and they have built an entire wall made of red bricks with a fireplace and paintings to decorate it. It's pretty nice and very different.
We grabbed our usual seat by the window. We had a blast making fun of everybody we saw. We also talked a lot about ourselves and had a really good time. There's just so much that I learned that I don't even know where to begin. I hardly even know what to say. Everything has sort of blended together to form my mind's image of her, and it's hard to split these things back apart again.
I had a little talk with Jon just a little while ago about things. He started it off this time by asking me how I feel about Emily. We had talked about this last night, too. I told him that I pretty much like her but I'm holding back for a while just so I don't get let down. I would really like it if something develops between the two of us, but I'll just wait and see. I was surprised to find out that he knew she roller blades. She hadn't mentioned it to him any time recently. She did tell me earlier about it. She used to borrow them from this guy so much that he just went ahead and gave them to her for her birthday.
At Burger King we kept refilling our drinks every once in a while. A long time later, we had just stopped working on a problem, and she suddenly realized that she had to pee. That made me realize the same thing and we practically ran to the bathrooms. It was funny. We were going to play a little basketball after we studied but we had no basketball and didn't know where we could get one off hand. She has some little date with a guy named Norman tonight that she had to call once she got home. She kept playing it off saying that he'd better come up with something good since she agreed to spend the evening with him. She used to go to Mount Holyoke College up in Massachusetts for a year. She told me later that she left because of all of the lesbians. She just didn't like their too liberal beliefs and the way they tried to force them on her. She isn't all that proud of going to the University of Florida. I sort of wonder how she survived up there at an all women's school without a bunch of guy friends. Maybe that experience is why she is like this now.
We even talked had a little chat with one of the black waitresses later on when there were hardly any people in there. We just talked about what we were studying and she wiped the condensation from our cups off of the table so it didn't get on our books. I thought that was nice. It was so funny how we were making fun of people. There was a group of complete nerds that were talking about all kinds of computer bullshit rather loudly. We were cracking up. There also was a group of three older couples that met at Burger King just to decide where they were going to eat. They didn't order a thing, just met there. We couldn't get over that. It was fun. There were also some pretty cute girls that would come in and I would flirt with. When Emily dropped me off, we decided on studying maybe on Sunday and that I should give her a call.
Instead, Emily called me earlier today from home while I was cooking supper. She was working on her lab problems some more. I thought she was talking about the homework questions for a second and told her to stop it and wait until she could help me. She joked that I don't need any help, and I agreed that what I really need is the initiative to do them. She laughed and said something, but I don't remember what. We then decided that we'll probably get together tomorrow morning. Oh yeah, she and Norm are ending up going to play putt putt golf with free passes that she has. I thought that was funny and expressed my pleasure that they were only going to do that.
I talked to Pong today after German and we had a lot to catch up on after I dissed him that day about wanting to sit next to Jennifer. Anyway, I thing Noel stole her from me as a study partner. Pong and I were talking about Fran‡oise for a few minutes. She's going home this weekend and I begged her to take me home to the beaches with her. She said that she would if I seriously wanted to. Pong and I were also talking about Melissa. He said that he noticed that we were becoming pretty close friends towards the end of the semester and I thought that was cool. I then talked to Derek for the rest of our walk. We were talking about Gina being do fat now. I asked him how much he talks to them nowadays. He still talks to Jana quite a bit, but not much to Cindy. We were joking about them and some other people. It was the best talk we've had yet. I think Jennifer hates me. I think she's a bitch. The girl who roller blades in our class wore a really tight low cut stretch black shirt today. I saw some much of her breasts throughout class that I almost got a hard on. I flirted with her throughout class. Noel and I commented about how nice it looked at the beginning of class, and Jennifer cut in and said something derogatory. Maybe that's why she was being so ornery towards the end of class. If she even looked at me, which I'm sure she did, she would have seen me looking.
January 19, 1993 - Tuesday - Emily, Jennifer
All of the little problems that arouse this past week have all seemingly been resolved. Emily and I are going along pretty nicely, and I just received and had a good phone call with Jennifer. I also had a pretty cool weekend. Ed and I were the only two of us left here in the room this weekend. We pretty much cruised the town and did quite a bit.
I woke up a bit early this morning. How could I sleep with Chris making all of that racket and spraying his stinky hair spray all over the place. I buried my head in my pillow and rested up a bit longer before getting up. I grabbed my little bag of parcels that I planned on mailing today before I left. One was Kimmeth's birthday present. I ended up giving her a really nice pair of panties from Victoria's Secret and a dubbing of the Toy's soundtrack. I wrapped them in the pretty floral paper and white box that the salesgirl at Victoria's Secret gave me. I stuffed the box with some of the magazine shreds that Tracey used for my Christmas present. I also threw in a card. I asked her when she is going to start lying about her age so that I can start catching up! I thought that was cute. I also mailed a couple of Financial Aid Forms home. I addressed the yellow envelope in big black letters to Cathleen just to be cute. I also wrote her a one page letter in class today before I sent it off.
I got to chemistry lecture just as the class before was getting out. I looked for Ed and Chris, but didn't see them. I walked up behind Emily and said hello. We talked about our weekends and some other stuff as we went in and sat down. She and I are officially referring to our professor as Pedro, his first name, from now on in our private conversations. It's funny. We seem to both really enjoy pressing against each other as we write, and even when we're just sitting there. We've always sat in a way that we're both leaning very much towards each other. At one point today, she was practically lying on my shoulder and could have easily fallen asleep. It's quite interesting. We joked around throughout class and had a pretty good time, for a chemistry lecture. I did actually pay attention to Pedro today to try and make up.
He told us something about picking up our quizzes on the fourth floor at the end of class. We decided to go up there and try to find the office. We then realized that he was talking about an entirely different building. There was this freaky little nerd guy that kept following us around trying to help us find it. He was looking himself, but just wouldn't shut up. I finally told her to hurry up so that we could ditch him, and we did. There were these indentions every once in a while along the walls, that had a big emergency shower in it. We thought they were funny, and I kept gently trying to pull her into them.
Afterwards, we both had an hour to kill before our next class so we walked over to Burger King across the street for breakfast. It wasn't until then that I realized that I had forgotten my wallet. I was especially pissed because that meant I had to go home again before I could mail the packages. Her birthday's on Sunday and I really wanted it to get there on time. She was kind enough to force me to borrow money from her, with which I bought a chocolate milkshake. It was funny because I was right behind Dietrich in line. He's the funny looking German grad student/teacher with a long brown pony tail. He truly looks like a horse. Melissa and I used to joke about him and Elaine liking each other because they were always together. What really surprised me was the fact that he was clean shaven.
When I reached the table, Emily had gotten a newspaper for each of us, and I thanked her. I had a chance to look at her driver's license in line, and I asked if I could see it again. The picture was taken when she was fifteen, and she looked pretty cute, much better than her Student ID picture but those are always bad. Her last name is Weber, and her birthday is October 20th, 1972. That makes her twenty. Jen just stopped by for a second. She wanted to know if I knew any military training songs. Weird. She has to know one for ROTC tomorrow morning. Oh yeah, Emily 'accidentally' saw one of the articles about me in my notebook and got to read about my accomplishments. It made it seem in no way like I was bragging. It worked pretty well. Anyway, she drives the same Oldsmobile 88 that her parents brought her home from the hospital in. Her father bought her a newer car now, though. When I asked her what it is, she sort of snickered, and then said a station wagon. Ha ha. I told her at least she has a car that she can drive.
We talked about a lot of other stuff. She had a calculus quiz that next period so I let her study for a few minutes. When Dietrich (I call him Dieter because it's shorter) left, I said, 'There goes Dietrich!' She seemed surprised, and asked if I knew him. It was funny because she dated his roommate for a little while. She even mentioned Elaine's name when I was talking about him liking my teacher. That was weird. She says that this guy was thirty and a grad student when they went out. I joked that it was looked upon as bad when I was chasing a twenty-four year old this summer. She said that was different because I was only seventeen. We were laughing a lot as Dieter left and I glanced at him and I'm sure he thought we were laughing at him. Good, because at that point we were. I really want to mention something to Elaine. Emily was very quick to point out that she stopped seeing him, because she didn't make that too clear for a second. She said that she liked him, even though he was a real asshole, because he made her think. Chris and I had talked about the asshole part and I complained to her how it sucks that the girls always like the assholes, because that's bad for me. It was cute.
We sort of walked half way between both of our classes before we split. I gave her my phone number before we did in case she wants to call. I was happy. I then walked over to my social problems class. There is this pretty cute girl in there, and we always sit in front of or behind one another. I've talked to her a few times and flirt with her heavily. She's very seductive and looks definitely like sorority. I really want to get to know her soon. Fun. Our professor then walked in. I was writing Cathy's letter at the time. On Tuesdays we have a two hour class, but he was dismissing us in ten minutes because he has to pick up his son at the daycare. I really wasn't expecting that but was glad of it. I went home and Ed walked in about the same time. He had a package to mail as well, and also had two hours before his next class just like me. We decided to drive to the huge regional post office down the road and mail our stuff from there. It's the biggest and nicest post office I have ever seen. My stuff was also pretty cheap to send. I guess I'm use to mailing stuff overseas. It was better because our packages will most likely be on there way much quicker than from the puny office on campus.
Ed woke me up a little while ago because of Jennifer's phone call. I was really glad to hear from her, and told her, too. She had a pretty good time in Boca Raton this weekend. She said that it rained almost the entire way down on Friday, and then was cold on Saturday. We talked about a bunch of other stuff as well. We both saw Scent of a Woman this weekend starring Al Pacino. I thought it was really good, and if I think a movie without many women in it is really good, then it's a pretty good movie! We decided on studying tomorrow night for German. She also told me that I need to call her more often so that she stops waking me up from my naps.
Ed and I worked out three times this weekend. We also went bike riding. We actually got in to the stadium and were riding up and down the big spiral ramps to the upper levels. It was fun and probably the only opportunity that we'll get to be in that stadium while it's empty. Working out is getting to be fun. I'm really in to it this time. I actually gained six pounds this weekend! I used the same scale and was actually wearing less clothes the third day. It might have had a bit to do with the Pizza Hut lunch buffet on Monday though.

January 14, 1993 - Thursday - Emily, Jen's boy problem
I just came back with a little study date with Jennifer. The unfortunate little bitch has a boyfriend. I was afraid of that and saw it coming. I wasted all of that time and effort being nice to her, and for what!?! Just kidding..... It looks somewhat like we are actually going to be just friends! Ughh! It'll be something new to have a female friend without sexual interest on my part. Actually, that's not true, and I already know about that boyfriend nonsense, but I'm just going to play it cool for a while. She'll be around for a long time, unlike Melissa, for whom time was a luxury we unfortunately didn't have. Jennifer's not using me either. She's totally into our relationship for the benefit of both of us.
She called me earlier, like she said she would last night. I had fallen asleep after my last class for about an hour. I was a little spacey because I had just waken up when I called. She told me stop trying to mess with her mind and that she was going to get pissed if I didn't. I thought for a second and realized that I wasn't being as jovial as I was last night. I still don't really know what the hell I was saying to irritate her so, and I tried numerous times to find out, but I kept screwing up. We finally decided that I would go over to her dorm at seven. I promised that I would leave my attitude at home, and she was glad. I think I figured out what bothered her. Kim and I, and sometimes Abby, will start just talking humorous nonsense to each other, pretending to be talking about something although we're not sure what. Stuff like, 'I can't believe you did that!' and, 'Yep, it sure was a lot of fun...' just out the blue. It's funny when Kim and I do it. I guess I sort of fell into that rut a bit with Jennifer and it confused her. Sorry babe! I'll try to ba a little more simple next time. Bitch.
Anyway, I thought about how much I really want to be good friends with her, although that boyfriend problem had yet to be introduced. I decided that I will start being the biggest sweetheart that I can while still being myself. I've found it to be a very rewarding and interesting route to take the past few days. I dressed up pretty nice including a sweater when I was ready to head over. I called her from downstairs and she then came down. We went into the little library. We saw a few girls that she knew and then sat down at a table. I was very nice and talkative. I noticed her tan with the clothes she was wearing. She had on a nice shirt unbuttoned quite a bit. Her tan was at least twice as dark as mine now, and when we were talking about it, she said that it's faded a lot. I was impressed. Of course she is from Boca Raton, and unfortunately will be there all weekend. She keeps telling me that I should force Derek to take me home this weekend since we have three days off.
After looking at what we were supposed to do for homework, I realized that it was very little, it would have taken less than five minutes to copy out of the answer key at home, but I'm glad I went. She wrote, 'Hi Dan' at the top of my workbook and I wrote back to her in hers. I officially apologized for being 'mean' and said that it came from old bad habits that I'm definitely breaking. We then worked through the stuff. I was surprised that so much of the homework came so easily to me. I understand and can do many of the conventions with ease. When she would put herself down the slightest bit, I would quickly contradict her and say something good. I really can be nice! I think I left a pretty good impression because she was talking about how we're going to study for all of the tests and stuff for the rest of the semester.
We then read the comics for a few minutes before we walked outside. We talked for a few minutes there before it got too cold for her and we said goodbye until tomorrow in class.
I woke up early today to make sure that I'd make it to chemistry early so that I could meet up with Emily. I bought my newspaper, and grabbed a Coke, and went and sat out in front of the building on the stairs and read for a while. I stayed outside once second period was released until she came. I saw her before she saw me, but I looked down again. She came up and said, 'Hi Dan!' I was glad she remembered my name because I almost forgot her's. She had her hair tied back today. We went in and sat down towards the front. I'm sure Pedro noticed me with her because he usually sees me eating my bag of candy or what not over in my usual seat to the right. We slouched back and both crossed a leg over the other. We leant n each other practically the entire time.
She's from Gainesville and still lives with her parent's. She went to a school up in Massachusetts for a year before coming here. She's a third year sophomore because not all of her credits transferred. At one point, we were talking so much that when Pedro was asking a question on the overhead, he turned towards me and asked me if I'd like to try an answer. I shook my head and said no, and he turned away and said, 'Good.' Asshole. Faggot. Asshole. Oh well. Wait til he see's my grade! It's amazing to me how much of the stuff that I still remember from tenth grade that I had thought that i had forgotten. Anyway, I walked Emily to her next class which is over closer to Beaty. We said goodbye and then I came home.

January 13, 1993 - Wednesday - Jennifer, Emily from Lab
Call me nuts, but my first chemistry lab was a hell of a lot of fun! Of course it had a lot to do with the women in there, and not the lab. It was great!
Well, first things first. I got up early enough this morning to make me a big brunch of French toast. It was delicious and was the best batch I had ever cooked. I had a pretty big stack and ate the entire thing, drowning in butter and syrup. Yummmmmm!!! I then left pretty early and walked over to German class. I dressed up pretty nice today in a long sleeve shirt. I was under the impression that it was going to be cold. Silly me to believe a weatherman! But at least I looked good. The really cute blonde sorority girl arrived when the room opened. We knew that we'd end up making a circle anyway so we sat close to the wall and turned our chairs sideways. She sat right next to me. I noticed a guy's class ring on her finger, and then she was talking about them working on an engagement so I guess she's pretty much off limits. Pretty much...(a bit of optimism!!!)
I saved the seat to my right for Jennifer, which proved to be awkward. There was actually space for both her and Derek, and Pong decided that he and David were going to come sit by me. I felt a bit bad because I had to essentially tell him to go away. Oh well. I was also flirting with Elaine somewhat. She brought out index cards for us to write our names on and then fold and stand up on our desks. That way she can get to know our names quicker. She tried to recite the people's names as she walked around the room handing out the cards. It was funny when she came to me and laughed and said my name with ease. I think she was glad that she could finally get somebody's name right, and she knew that I was laughing at the whole thing myself.
I ended up asking for and getting Jennifer's phone number. It's 334-8229. Earlier we were looking in my new Sierra Club day planner with all of it's pretty nature pictures, and she saw that January 25 was circled. She asked why, and I said it was a friend's birthday. She said something like, 'Well I have a birthday, too.' and I agreed that most people do have birthdays. I then asked her when her's is, and circled June 5th for her. When she gave me her number, she wrote it down in my Cambridge organizer but then looked at me and said sarcastically, 'But you can't use it.' Bitch. We then later decided that we'd study together and I told her that we could, but I'm not allowed to use her number, so she changed her mind and said that I could. We walked to the bookstore before she headed home. I had to run in and buy some safety glasses and a lab apron for chemistry. unfortunately I missed calculus. Jennifer was yelling at me to go, to no avail.
During the time before lab, I went and sat out by the rock in front of Turlington Hall. I saw Kara, Tama's old roommate, so i sat and talked with her for a little while. She's taking physics next semester and I told her that she could photocopy some of our labs later on if she'd like. She wrote down my phone number in her little book. She told me that her whole life was in there and we were talking about that and some other stuff. There were a hell of a lot of really hot girls! Some of them are gorgeous!!! It's an awesome place to pass time, or even read a book. I did that before sociology class yesterday.
As eighth period came around, I headed over to lab. There were a lot of good looking girls in there. There was one with brown hair and gorgeous blue eyes. I suddenly realized how girl's feel when they look at my eyes. I talked to her for a second, only to find out that the lab is split into two classes, 2045 and 2046, and she is in the latter. It was pretty easy to pick out all of the people in the second class because they were all older and more mature looking. Being tall, I was flirting with all of the girls from across the room while we were still standing waiting to be assigned to a lab space. I picked out this one tall, rather attractive girl from across the room. She looked older and I figured she wouldn't be in my class. Not only was she in my class, but her station is right behind mine to the left. Our class is broken up into three groups, each with it's own little graduate teacher. Our's is a nice and cuter black woman. She's pretty helpful and I like her so far. It would be better is he were white, though.
Anyway, as I meandered through my lab, I tried to figure out how I was going to meet the tall girl. Chris and I were talking about girls last night, and we said that most often the best girls are the 'plain' ones who are really beautiful but just are quite sure of themselves. I definitely agree. She pretty much made me think of that as soon as I saw her. After a little while, she made a frustrated face towards me, and I laughed and asked her what's the matter. She then went off about how the lab is a complete pain in the ass and really inefficient. I agreed and we talked for a little while. Her name is Emily. I kept going over and talking to her at her table. When I would saw something funny, she would laugh and nudge me or touch me in some way. I found her to be quite physical. I finished my lab slow enough that I only finished twice as early as everybody else. Not really, but I was close. If she hadn't of had too much error in one of her results, I would have walked out with her.
I asked her earlier if she is in Pedro's class and she said yes and we talked about that for a few minutes. She said that everybody on this side is in 2045, and I disagreed. Both chemistry 2045 and 2041 take the 2045 lab. Jana, the the black girl from next door in Beaty was also in there. She's the only girl in that room that I talk to semi-regularly. We had already said hi to each other earlier. She was just ahead of us and I called her name and asked her which chemistry she is in. I didn't take her to be too smart, so when she said 2041, I was happy that she had proven my point to Emily. It made me look good. I also walked by and talked to Jana every once in a while. I brought up the fact that Pedro always trips on the steps as he paces around the lecture hall when he talks during class. She laughed and said that she had noticed that, too. I also realized that she was the cute girl that I had seen behind me twice as I left class and was impressed by. I was glad to have found a friend already to sit with in class. When I left, we said farewell and said that we'd see each other in lecture tomorrow.
I was so happy when I left! I ran into Ed on the way home and talked to him for a little while. Oh yeah, I also saw that girl from King High School that I met in the English drop/add line last semester in lab. I didn't say anything to her today, though. I keep seeing people all over the place that I recognize from meeting somewhere just once. It's weird yet funny.
Later on I gave Jennifer a call. Ed and I were watching Ren and Stimpy when I did. She though I was nuts for never watching them before. We talked and had a good time for almost an hour. She kept telling me how her roommate, Marcie, is a real bitch and is moving out soon. I liked how she said the word bitch, with a slight accent. It was cute.

January 11, 1993 - Monday - Jennifer Hirsch, Parties
I just got home a little while ago from my three hours of classes today. They were pretty cool. A whole shitload of awesome stuff has happened since last Friday!!!
I left for German early enough on Friday so that I could talk with the girl's outside before class began. Fran‡oise was sitting next to me on one side, and David on the other. There's a gorgeous blonde that Fran‡oise has become friends with, and I flirt with her when I can. Anyway, this goofy guy that was also there told us that we have a new teacher, and will be moving to a new room in Little Hall. I was pretty glad. I won't have to ride my bike if it's in Little Hall, and thus I'll be able to walk with Jennifer after class. I really didn't like Virginia, the ugly 'lesbian'. I asked him if the new teacher is cuter, and he said no. We then figured that it probably, and unfortunately, wasn't Elaine. She had said last semester that she didn't really want to teach German 2, and we figured that even the slightest chance of her being our teacher were very remote.
Just thinking about her caused the three of us to start making fun of her. We were just joking about her clothes, mainly the brown dress. Listening to our descriptions, the guy said that it was her. We then laughed and said that she probably is our teacher and is listening right around the corner, and guess who pops out!?! Elaine!!! I was so happy! She's awesome! What are the chances of me being lucky enough to get the same teacher that I want in a class like that! My wonderful semster just rocketed into the sky! I told her how happy I was that she's back. I kissed ass a lot. I'm not sure if I would have been so happy if I didn't get an A, though. But still! German with Elaine back in Little Hall; just like the good old days! I was so happy the rest of the day.
I saved a seat next to me that day for Jennifer. I talked to her and Fran‡oise throughout the period. When Jennifer and i walked out, it was raining. Of course!, since I had just taken my umbrella out of my bookbag earlier. She shared her's with me for a few minutes until I got my bike. I really don't mind getting wet and I didn't want her to get sick on my behalf. I really thought it was comfortable, but she was cold. We walked to the Reitz Union before saying bye. As I rode back towards my calculus class, I ran into Elaine and asked her if she was enjoying the great Florida weather. We laughed and said that we'd see each other on Monday. Jennifer walked up with her little cup of hot chocolate today just as the class before ours was letting out. She looked tired, but good. We said hi and then went in and got seats against teh wall, close to the front. We didn't really leave Derek a seat. Fran‡oise and a couple of others were already in there, and we all talked for a few minutes. Jennifer and I then told each other about our weekends. Derek came in and sat up to the left of me. We said hello. He said that he was going through some of his stuff and found a picture from graduation of all of us that she had taken. She had written a note on it for me that read:
Dan: 08-06-92
This is just a copy of your gifted group at graduation. I thought you might want it, so I made a copy. I hope you like it.
Lots of Love, Meg
P.S. Good luck at U.F.
I was standing next to Cindy with Bobby, Minh, Jana, Derek, and Andrea also in the bunch. I was really tan and had lots of hair. I was happy that I finally have a real picture of myself from graduation. I was so nervous that day, that I forgot the camera. Jon thought that was funny when I told him. Thanks Meg!
Elaine came in with her damn brown potato sack dress on! I called Fran‡oise from halfway across the room where she sat with the blonde, and we started laughing. Itwas funny. She then said for us to move our desks into a circle. That's a main thing that I would have missed if we still had dike for a teacher. We ended up so that I was right in between Jennifer and Derek. She had a bit of trouble getting her chair pushed back against the wall, so I helped her. Derek and I joked around a little bit during the class, and we talked about the people from Leto that we've seen. Jennifer was really hyper after having her sugar and caffeine. I really wanted to go do something with her, like lunch, but I had to go to class. Derek had to go get his bicycle, and we walked on without him. He then rode up between us and talked for a few more minutes before taking off saying, 'I guess I'll leave you two hyper people now,' or something like that. Jennifer was really hyper and it really sounded like we should do something together right then.
I asked her again about what classes she has before German. She only has a second period. I then said that we'll have to go to lunch sometime soon. She agreed right away and kept rambling about us having to go sometime. I plan on officially getting her phone number on Wednesday. Just from the way she was acting, I told her that she really seems to be doing her best to convince me to skip calculus and we laughed. Fun fun!!!
Desiree came Friday night to see Chris. Jon, Ed, and I decided to go to the mall and see a movie to give them some time alone. I knew that we'd never make it to the movies so I suggested that we rent one afterwards. We went and hung out in the mall for a while looking at all of the gorgeous girls. We also went shopping for Kimmeth's birthday present, underwear. We found a really nice pair that I ended up buying in Victoria's Secret. Waldenbooks had a half price sale on all of it's calenders and I bought a Sierra Club daily planner just to scribble in. I had wanted one before and at half price, it was quite a deal. It will hold me over until my dated sheets arrive for my Cambridge organizer. I talked to Cheryl for a few minutes in the store where she works. We then rented a French movie with subtitles. It was from some resort where they all go topless. It was a really good movie though, and after a while, the subtitles didn't even bother you anymore. I also dubbed it for future reference.
Saturday morning, Chris actually went studying all day leaving Des behind with us. He screwed her Friday night and was done with her for a while I guess. I had made a huge plate of French toast for breakfast. I then made her a couple of waffles. The four of us then went to the mall. We only had an hour last night. We went shopping for clothes and found an awesome deal where the shirts were two for twent-five dollars, but you had to buy two. They were really nice and were regularly about twenty a piece. There was a gorgeous salesgirl taht I kept flirting with and talking to while we were in there. We each ended up picking out a shirt, and the cashier gave the three of them to us for $12.50 a piece which was cool, instead of making us buy a fourth. We then went and ast in the food court while Desiree had an ice cream. I was lusting over the women and she asked us if we ever talked to them, or just looked. She said that we'd be amazed at how easy it is to talk to jsut go up to and talk to a girl.
In the next store we walked into, I saw a girl from last semester's German class, and I went up and talked to her. They thought I took her advice for a second and I thought it was funny. I did think a lot about what she said, though.
We went to a Greek dance...

January 7, 1993 - Thursday - Good schedule!, Jennifer
I had a rather cool and lucky day today as well. I planned on getting up early and dropping my sociology class during second periods before chemistry lecture third. Ed and Chris have chemistry second and I was going to walk with them. Jon also got up early and it would have been too hectic if I was trying to get ready as well, so I just slept an extra hour. I registered for a Social Problems class which fulfilled the writing portion of the Gordon Rule. They are much smaller than the lecture section without it, but are extremely hard to get into, especially during drop/add. I didn't think it was worth it if it were not Gordon Rule so I was just going to drop it and not even try to get into the other any more this semester. I figured fourteen would be enough especially with my pain in the as British Literature class.
I went to chemistry with a bag of Nonpareils that I ate throughout the lecture. There was a pretty cute girl just to my left, and another not so cute, but well developed, that I flirted with throughout the lecture. It's going to be somewhat awkward imposing myself on a girl in a lecture hall that is only half full. Hopefully I'll meet a girl in lab or discussion that I can then start sitting with in lecture. Afterwards, I went to the bookstore to try and by books for my English class, but they didn't have any of them. We have a rather abundant reading assignment due tomorrow morning. He told us that we'd probably have to go to the bookstore across the street, so I figured I'd do that later. I then went into Turlington to drop my sociology class. When I finally found the line, it was only about fifteen people long. Since I was only dropping, I could have just walked straight in, but there was a really cute girl at the end of the line, so I talked to her instead. She was ethnic and very hot. She was wearing a flimsy white T-shirt that draped her curves very well.
So I wouldn't look foolish for waiting in line, I borrowed a course guide from the guy behind us to find the section number of the Gordon Rule class that would ideally fit into my schedule. I figured that I'd ask, get rejected, drop my class, and leave. I never expected her to say that the class was open, especially not the exact section I needed. When she did, I was stunned for a second, and then told her to add it. Wow! Jon later told me that I was pretty lucky. I got into an extremely hard class to get into it, with extreme ease. Somebody somewhere must like me. I then had a dilemma. I still only wanted fourteen credits (ideally fifteen, but oh well) and wondered if I'd have to turn around and drop the wonderful course I just added, or drop that hateful English class.
There were good and bad points for both. The English is really hard, the entire grade coming from only four papers. I really wanted to wait until another semester when I can get a better section of it later in the day. That was another problem, English is second period. If I dropped it, I wouldn't have to wake up on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays until sixth period which starts at 12:50!!! I loved that! I also was thinking that if I screwed up on just one paper, my grade would be fucked, while I know that I can make an impressive A in sociology, and learn some interesting stuff while I'm at it. The only bad thing was the exam. In sociology, it isn't until the last day of exam week, Friday. That sucks! If all of my others were much earlier than that, I would have dropped it, but my new Calculus class ended up being that Thursday, which solved that problem. I decided to go to sociology which met today, and see if I liked the teacher or not before I decided. Jon then said that it was the same teacher he had, and he is really good. That really influenced my decision. I liked him a lot and the class was filled with attractive women! All in all, I dropped English. I see my schedule as still being hard, but much more bearable, and actually quite fun and interesting. I really like all of my classes and professors!
I then went over to the Florida Book Store across the street from the University and bought the six novels for the class. I also found a larger version of the Oxford Duden German-English dictionary that I found and a bookstore in the mall and fell in love with. It is awesome, with tons of good phrases, and most importantly, the gender of the nouns, the most important part of German which no other German dictionary seemed to have! Since my class books were only costing me ninety dollars since I'm reusing two, and am borrowing Jon's expensive chemistry books, I bought the dictionary. I already have learned some interesting and vulgar new sayings.
On the way there, I ran into Tama. After picking her up... Just Kidding. We talked for a few minutes and said that we'd talk later on the phone. I thought to myself that I believe her about as often as I fuck her. Ha ha. I then went to Criser Hall to pick up Financial Aid Forms and get a printout of my schedule. I turned and saw Jennifer. I chased her down and we talked for a few minutes. She said that Derek won't be there tomorrow because he's taking Meg off to send her home. Good, I'll be able to steal Jennifer even more tomorrow in class. I told her about not having to wake up until German class and she was jealous. We said goodbye and I told her not to oversleep on her nap again and we laughed. I then ran into Cecil just outside. We talked a good little while about everything we did over Christmas break, and all that we had to do during drop/add.
While I was talking to him, Rebecca walks by and said something about the fact that she keeps running into me everywhere. I asked her if that was good or bad, and she said good and we laughed. What else could she say? We didn't talk long because of Cecil, and then he and I wrapped it up. I told him to stop by soon. It turns out that he did last night at about eight, but nobody was home. I think I was, but I was asleep and never heard anything. Oh well. I then came home and have just been hanging out and napping ever since. Oh yeah, I did run into and talk to Heidi for a few minutes. She talks to me like she knows I like her. I'm sure that Jen told her before. She's so cute!!!

January 6, 1993 - Wednesday - Jennifer, Francoise, Meg
January 6, 1993 - Wednesday
I had a pretty cool first day of real classes today. I had to wake up early for my second period British literature class. I kept thinking that the guy is nuts, but then realized that if Melissa could get an A, then so can I. There are no exams in that class, just four or five writing assignments. Class participation, however, counts twenty percent. There were some pretty good looking girls in there. They all seemed older. Nobody really talked to each other yet though. A pretty cute one came in and sat next to me. There was also a really cute one across a few seats that kept half flirting with me. I'll have to get to know some of them. I then went home and went to sleep during my three hour break. I'm much more aware in the early afternoon, which makes my new schedule work out very well. I can handle one morning class pretty well, but I don't like more than that.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, my only class is third period chemistry lecture, and then the rest of the day is free. That's cool! I also have a strong desire to be able to get to my German class early. I like to hang out and talk before class and get a good seat for me and the girls. It sucked royally when I had to rush to German after physics discussion last semester. This time I have a three hour break before German. That also gives me a good amount of time for cramming before a test.
I woke up today and made lunch and then headed out to find the Psychology building where my German class is held. According to the map, my schedule worked out so that my sixth, seventh, and eighth period classes are all pretty close to each other. That's another thing I tried to consider when making my schedule. Everything worked out pretty well. When I found the room, there was a guy and a pretty cute girl sitting across from him talking. I sat down and we all said a few things. She obviously found me more interesting to look at and talk to because she kept talking to me more and more almost trying to ignore the other guy completely. She's joining a sorority, too. When the other class was released, the three of us walked in and she started lagging behind to see where I would sit. I sat in he second chair, two rows over from the guy. She went and sat right in the middle. Pretty soon she was only talking to me.
Another cute girl walked in, talked to the guy from across the room, and then sat on the other side of me. I didn't say much to her, and she didn't ever talk to anyone much more so she looks like a definite person to befriend, but I can let her wait because I have to hurry and snag the other ones that would pair off with whichever guy talks to them first. Derek then walked in, with Meg!!! I sure as hell wasn't expecting to see her! I said hi to the two of them, and they headed to the back. Fran‡oise then walked in. I was a bit glad to see a familiar face. She sat in front of me and turned around and we started talking and joking around. The sorority girl seemed a bit quiet for a few minutes after I talked to Fran‡oise so much. Jennifer came in late. By then, there were no more seats near me. Since she knows Derek, she walked to the back and didn't notice me. Towards the end of class, the teacher, who is a very ugly hippy woman, told us to pair up and introduce ourselves. I laughed and tapped Fran‡oise on the shoulder, and asked her name. We fooled around for a few minutes. We then started talking to the sorority girl and the blonde in front of her. We all talked away for the last five minutes of class.
I said goodbye to them and waited to talk to Jennifer. She was talking to Derek for a minute, and Meg was just standing there. I walked up to her and asked her if she is just visiting Derek. She laughed and asked me if I thought she would actually go to school here! It was funny. She said that she is going home on Friday. Jennifer finished talking to Derek and turned towards me and I said hello. We walked towards the door and I turned to ask Derek about his GPA. Ross told me yesterday that he had done bad. He said that he ended up with something like a 2.7 and would have to make a 4.0 in eighteen credit hours to keep his Florida Academic money. He's trying to get a grade changed and I wished him luck. I kept Jennifer in the corner of my eye in case she tried to leave, but she actually waited right behind me for me to come. I was glad.
As we walked into the stairway, I asked her in German what her name is. She said Jennifer and asked me mine. We walked outside and were talking about how that building is in the middle of nowhere. I asked her how she liked our little teacher. She kept getting nervous a lot of times and would seem to go blank on what she was going to say. It got annoying. Jennifer laughed and brought that up and said that she was about ready to get up, and we both said, 'slap the shit of her,' at the same time. It was funny. I told her that I figured she'd say something like that just from talking to her yesterday. She's got an attitude very much like mine. It's funny! I asked her where she was going,a nd she said she doesn't have another class until ninth period. I told her that I have to go to McCarty Hall for my next class. I grabbed my bike.
I then played dumb about knowing where the hall is. I had a general idea, actually I've been through it many times. It was up to the right. She knew the way from around the Reitz Union and seemed intent on getting me to go that way with her. Of course I did. I knew exactly when to shutup and just go along. It was way out of my way, but I was on my bike and getting to know her was well worth it. We were talking about Derek for a few minutes. I just wanted to know how she knew him. She said that he was also in an English course with her last semester. She said that they used to study together before German tests. Derek still acts like a fool just to try and impress the girls, like he did in high school. She mentioned that. I said how surprised I was when I saw Meg walk into class with him. She said that she used to hear about Meg all of the time.
I asked her where she's from, and she said Boca Raton. I thought it was funny that the girls I meet are quite often from the same weird places as the guys Kim meets; Boca Raton and St. Louis at the top of my head. She asked me where I was from, and then laughed and said Tampa. I acted amazed and asked how she knew, since I already said that I went to high school with Derek. She stays over in South Hall. She knows somebody in Beaty and we talked about that for a few minutes. She's not as close and convenient as Melissa or Tama, but oh well. I think she has a sister here because she was talking about her, saying that they usually drive home together when they go. She said that one time her sister wanted to stop by her boyfriends house and spend the night on the way home. Jennifer really didn't want to, so she flew home instead. It was funny. We were talking about Gainesville being such a small town with nothing to do. She said that she really likes the campus, and has met a lot of nice people, but the city sucks. I agreed, saying I never knew how much I'd miss Tampa until I was up here for a while.
Well, Jennifer and I hit it off pretty well, and I'm glad. I really like her. It's not often you meet someone by such seemingly impossible circumstances that is very much lie you,and so fun and easy to talk to. It's just weird that I waited as long as I did fucking around to go to the end of the German drop/add line, only to meet a girl like Jennifer, who turns out to be a really good friend of Derek's, and then steal her right out from under his nose like I hopefully did. If not, she'll be a really good way for Derek and I to be friends again for a while, too. With Meg, he shouldn't have anything to be jealous about. We ran into a girlfriend of hers right as it was time for me to go. As she was walking away from us, she asked Jennifer what her phone number is again, and she said 8299, I think. It was a funny way to get her number. I think I'll wait until she gives it to me directly. We said goodbye, for she said that she wouldn't want me to be late to class because McCarty is really confusing and I'll probably get lost. We laughed and said that we'd see each other on Friday.
I also had asked her why she was late to class, if she had one right before it, or just got lost. She said that her only class before that one was early in the morning, just like mine, and she went to sleep and overslept! I just realized, if we both have spare time like that around lunchtime, maybe we can get together. I hope so, I hope so, I hope so.
I ended up making a seriously lucky guess, because I picked the right stairway and walked straight into my class. This new Calculus III teacher is awesome! He taught some material about vectors that I already knew worked, but I didn't know why they worked or what they really did. He taught the stuff in a way that was very clear, and almost enlightening. I was amazed at how easily I understood the stuff. He's also a very loud and clear speaker. I think I'm going to like that math class, although it's still almost entirely guys. But this time the room is large and we can spread out. I think this semester is going to work out nicely.
I then rode down to my chemistry lab, only to find out that they don't start until next week. Hurray!!!

January 5, 1993 - Tuesday - Kimmeth, Drop/Add, Jen
Kim called me a little while ago. She wanted to brag about a guy named Mike that she met at her blues bar the other night. She had told me that she needs to meet a guy whom she doesn't know how old he is, or where he works. She said that he wouldn't tell her his age and she didn't ask what he did. She thought it was funny that she met one so soon after telling me and had to call me and tell me. I didn't care. I told her that I'm jealous now. She asked me why for a second. We joked around about it for a few more minutes. I was frantically waiting for her to tell me what she really feels about this guy. She then said that he goes to college in Nebraska and I said that's a relief. She said that she thought that I would like that fact. He's leaving on Friday. I told her that I like that, too.
She was telling me what she wore. She wore some kind of shirt with flowers on it. I asked her if they were the right size. She laughed and said that she wanted to show it to me the other night but forgot. She said that she thought they were. She said that she didn't want to start looking like a bar-fly to Drew, and was glad to get a little company. She said that when Mike and his friends, at least a guy and girl, decided to split and hit some other bars, she decided to take off and go home. She said that I was so much fun that day, that I wore her out. I said thank you sarcastically, but she sounded somewhat serious.
When Chris answered the phone, I knew right away that it was for me. He always says, 'May I ask who's calling?' in a very kiss-ass way. I then heard him say, 'Well that's not very nice!' I thought she said something about me for a second, but it turns out that she said no to him! I thought that was funny. She did end up telling him and I asked, 'Kim who?' I hoped it was Kimmeth, but it also could have been Kim Austin from Physics calling after Christmas like we said. When I asked her what she said to Chris, she told me, and then said if she wanted him to know, she would have told him in the first place. She was being a smart ass. She also called me a cheapskate, although she then told me that she was just making fun of how self conscious I was at Bennigan's that night.
She also caught a cold. She said her throat started feeling dry Saturday night. I told her that I definitely am not sick. I guess I have a reason now to be glad that I didn't kiss her goodbye Saturday night. If I would have thought of that on the phone, I would have said so. She said that the guy who always flirts with her and makes fun of her at work kept teasing her about picking her nose when she would blow it today. I told her that drew must of sneezed in her glass when he saw her talking to that other guy. It was funny.
I was really glad she called though. I still can't get over how much she likes me now. She's even calling me long distance so soon. I figured she'd just wait and let me call or whatever. I'm impressed. I told her that I'll call her soon, and she said that I'd better. I then changed it saying I'll call in a couple of days after I see how my classes turn out.
Chris' cousin, Jo, arrived while I was on the phone with Kim. I introduced myself and shook his hand while still talking to her. After I got off of the phone with Kim, we talked with Jo for a few minutes before he and Chris left for dinner. He has a really cute wife.
I called home after I ate dinner. They said that Nicole called and tried to get my phone number, but Chrissy didn't know what it was. Mother also said that Kim called about an hour after father and I left on Sunday because she had a story to tell me. She said that she would just write me though. I guess she decided to call instead.
I went through drop/add 'hell' today. My appointment to begin was at one, but German doesn't enforce the appointments. Since that is the most important class to me, I decided to head over there first thing. I also figured that the line would be short enough that I could sleep a little later and head over at about eight. Ed had second period Chemistry which is close to where I was going so we walked together. It took a few minutes to get use to seeing gorgeous chicks everywhere again! As I walked into Dauer Hall, I walked pass Tama's old roommate, Kara, and said hi. I then walked to the room and was wrong about the line. They had combine all of the slavic languages and it was pretty long. David from German 1 was the first person in line. He had been there since 5:30 and I talked to him for a few minutes.
I walked the long way around and walked up the stairs to the end of the line, instead of barging my way through against it. Kara then walked by. There were only one or two people behind me so I let her in. We started talking about all kinds of shit. She was adding some kind of easy Russian anthropology class. I started looking around and realized that there were some pretty hot chicks in line. One reminded me of Meg from Leto. She looked foreign, but spoke very good English. She was wearing a flower print dress like Meg used to, and was very tan. She had long brown hair and very big tits! She was very close to a perfect 10! I was impressed. She was with her boyfriend i think but I still flirted with her and about every other girl in line at one point or another. There was a sorority chick in short shorts that kept sitting on the stairs above us with her legs spread wide open. I liked the view.
I also saw Derek Maddux up ahead of us a bit in line. There were these three girls behind me that were the non-sorority type. Two of them were a bit overweight an looked liked they wouldn't let you touch them unless you married them. The one in the middle, however, was pretty cute. She has a pretty decent build, a little on the skinnier side, with medium length brown hair. I started talking to her every once in a while and then would go back to Kara. Eventually I was devoting most of my time to this other girl. We didn't ever tell each other our names yet, but I believe we both read each other's drop/add form. Her name is Jennifer. I kept looking at her and laughing at her jokes and stories.
Diane Dodge walked up and we talked for a few minutes as she headed for the end of the line. Later on, Fran‡oise came down and we talked a little bit as well. She kept waving to me from down the stairs and we would laugh at each other. It was funny. Pong also came buy and said hello. It felt very good to keep having all of these people stopping to talk to me. Nobody around me even had one visitor the entire time. I was happy. When we were further up, Derek walked by and said hi to Jennifer. He then saw me and said, 'Hey Dan, what's up?' and we shook hands. We did a quick job of catching up. He then told me the section number for the department-X course. That's the one where you can only get the number from a counselor in that department. Thanks Derek, although it turns out that we didn't really need it.
I then started really talking to Jennifer. She seems to have a very similar attitude to me. She made a couple of jokes and references that I thought usually only I would make. It was funny. I started talking to her full time about her schedule and major and all. She's a first year student as well. She ended up getting in front of the other girl for a while and standing with me. We kept talking the entire time until we finally made it to the computer. Derek had told us that the only sections still open were during sixth and seventh periods. I was asking her what she's going to do because she had just added a creative writing class during sixth period. I told her to take that one anyway. I t ended up being the only one left when we got there, so we are both in the same section now. That's good. Hopefully, I have already found me a new friend for German. I'll find out tomorrow in our first class. Fun!
I got out of that line just in time to go to my chemistry lecture. I've learned it's better not to miss the first few days, especially in important classes. I actually ended up getting almost everything accomplished today, and I didn't miss my class. I sat in the front row. There aren't that many people in such a hard chemistry class. there were some cute girls though. I kept flirting with this blonde across the row of chairs that I was in. Class got out at 10:25, and my appointment with one of the honors counselors wasn't until 11:15. I walked to the bookstore and bought just my chemistry lab manual. I'm not sure what other books I will need, and I already have my calculus and German books. I found out that we will be using the same old chemistry book in my sequence. We weren't sure if we would or not. Ed thought they might come out with a new edition. Anyway, they are quite expensive, but Jon is going to let me borrow his. Cool!
I saw some pretty good looking girls in the bookstore. It's cool how they'll flirt back with you, especially if you're as cute as me. This one girl with long blonde hair and an awesome tan was wearing a sleeveless shirt with big armholes. She definitely looked sorority. She wasn't wearing a bra! They were quite big and were just sitting there as she walked by. I started at her the entire way as she walked by. Man! They're everywhere!
I then walked over to honors for my appointment. I saw Farnaz waiting to see an academic advisor but I didn't say anything. I went in and she sent me straight in to talk to the counselor. I was very friendly and was trying to kiss some serious ass! He pulled up my name in the computer and nodded and said I'll have no problem whatsoever getting in. He cave me a short form that I filled out and I was all set. They then gave me a listing of the honors courses and let me add away. It's cool because there is no waiting line whatsoever. I added Calculus III Honors. I then sat around for a while taking a look at the other classes and at the girl's asses. There were actually some cute one's in there as well. There were two pretty funny professors walking around, too. One had a very interesting almost European accent.
When I was through in there, I walked over to Criser Hall to get a printout of my schedule. I passed Rebecca, the Tri Delt from Physics on the way in. This black guy then said that door is an exit only and I 'd have to go around the other way. I walked out a different door and ran into Rebecca again. We laughed because she too had been turned back. We went to find the entrance and soon did. We went and made our printouts and then headed out. We talked about all kinds of crap as we walked straight ahead through the courtyard. Neither one of us knew where we were going but she seemed obviously interested in talking to me by that time. We decided to head over to the fitness center to grab something to eat. I only had a dollar, so I bought a Coke, but I told her that I'd just make up something to eat when I got back to the room. She said we're lucky to have a kitchen and all like we do. We found a couple of seats amidst the crowds and talked and looked over the newspaper. She soon had to head over to her Fortran class, so we said goodbye.
I went over to the Chemistry drop/add line to move my lab from Friday. I filled out a form and went to the end of the very long line. There were some cute girls there and I flirted as much as I could. There was a really cute one right next to me. We started sitting down on the floor against the wall. She was wearing headphones so I couldn't talk to her. Every time the line moved, we ended up sitting closer and closer. We kept brushing legs and shit. It was funny. This guy then came out and said anybody with 1:30 appointments and earlier can come to the front of the line. I then got to move way up in the line. This one girl sitting on the floor was leaning over so that I could see both of her gorgeous tits just hanging there. Yum! I got through pretty quickly after that and got both the lab and discussion changed to better times. I was surprised the ones I wanted were both open.
I pretty much ended up with everything I wanted, though. I think I'm going to drop my Social Problems class because I didn't get the one with Gordon Rule. I also don't have Kim as much as I'd like to. I really want her!!!

January 3, 1993 - Sunday - Kimmeth Powell!!!
It's amazing to me how one girl over the course of two weeks has caused me to completely forget the heartache of losing Melissa! Of course it is still there, but it has been severely lessened. Now I'm going to have to go through the pain of losing Kimmeth again. It seems like we did more over Christmas break than we did the entire summer, and it wasn't that long ago that I got over that! What can I say? She's beautiful in every way. She has a beautiful face and figure, and a wonderful personality, but I've always said that. It's funny though how it seems like she is all of the sudden in love with me. Ever since I turned eighteen, I joke that it's because I'm not jailbait any more. I did understand her position that seven years did seem like too much of a difference when the younger person is only seventeen.
Anyway, she told me that Teresa would be leaving sometime on Friday, and essentially she would be all mine from that point on. I had mentioned that maybe we could go to Busch Gardens again on Saturday, but I ended up going with father and Chrissy on New Year's Day. I decided to wait until Saturday to call her instead. I called at about one o'clock. We started talking for a little while before she figured that she'd better call Teresa real quick to say goodbye before she left. She did call back pretty soon after that.
It turned out that they all partied at the Yukatan Liquor Stand and at Gator's on the beach in St. Pete. I constantly made references to the fact that I like her and she seemed to be taking them with great pleasure. She said that Teresa and Gina both talked to her on the side and tried to convince her to take Gene back. Teresa told her that she had a heart to heart talk with him, and she's the first girl he's ever had such regrets about breaking up with. They tried to at least talk her in to kissing him at midnight. Teresa also told her to look around at all of the ho's that Gene will go after if she doesn't take him back, and asked her to do it for Jake. She said that she went and sat alone for a few minutes to think about it, and returned with a definite no!!! She said that Jake will just have to live with it. I told her what a good decision she made. Thank you!!!
She said that she ended up dancing with a Jamaican named Martin most of the night. She said that Gene's father is very prejudice and Gene seemed a little taken back by them. She was glad. Later that night, Kim was driving Teresa back to St. Pete from Kim's house and Kim made a wrong turn near the construction on Eisenhower Blvd. It was about four in the morning and she turned down a dirt road to turn around. Her tires ended up getting stuck in the soft dirt and no matter what they tried, they couldn't get it out! She also said that she was still a little out of it from all of the Bourgandy she had drunken earlier. They ended up walking through a ditch and across the highway over to the Hyatt on the Causeway. I was surprised when I realized where they really were. I told her that she was right around the corner from my house and she said that she could have called me.
Anyway, they called Gene, who was already home and asked him to please come get them. He first complained that he was tired, but then said that he would. Eventually they found out that he decided that he couldn't find the Hyatt, and went back home. Teresa's dad later became very pissed when he found out what Gene had done. They ended up calling Kim's older brother, David, and he came to get them. But not before his car overheated on the way. He even took Teresa all the way back to her house as well. Kim said that the one good thing that came out of this is that everybody will realize what a major asshole Gene is and will stop trying to pressure her into going back out with him. Good. When they went back to get her car the next day, a construction worker named Dino pulled her car out of the dirt with a tractor. He called her earlier and when she asked him how he knew it was her car, he said that he was going through it and found her checkbook in the glove compartment. It turns out that Teresa had left her door unlocked. Kim said that her new Calvin and Hobbes T-shirt, her bikini, and a necklace were all gone. She was pretty upset about that.
It was about two when we finally decided to go to a movie. I told her to give me a hour and a half. She thought that was a bit much until she realized that I still had to shower, get ready, and drive all of the way there. I had told her that I don't have my car any more before she even mentioned us doing anything. She later asked if that meant she had to come and pick me up. I was happy that she wants to be with me enough to drive forty-five minutes just to get me. I told her that I would go ahead and beat my mom until she gave me the keys. She told me not to be too hard on her, and I agreed that yes, she is the one that writes the checks for my college. I told mother that I'd probably be home by eight since the movie would probably start quite a bit later than when I'd get there. She gave me money to buy her gas and Pepsi on the way home. I was going to buy a paper this morning for the movie section, but I knew that we wouldn't go if I did. Kim agreed that it might be a jinx and I'm now glad that I didn't. She said that she'd go and cash her check while I worked my way over. I ended up getting there exactly on time!!! To the minute!!! I was surprised, what timing!
She was on the couch when I got there and I went in for a second. We decided to take my car, which is good, because I didn't want to leave it in that neighborhood. She didn't want to take hers because it was still covered with dirt. We were joking around as well. It sure does seem like I can get her to laugh a lot nowadays. She seems to take me so much more seriously now than before. I'm loving the attention, and unlike Melissa, Kim loves to talk! Now. Anyway, she told me that she didn't get a newspaper at the store because she figured that I might on the way, but I didn't. We decided to go ahead and drive by the mall. We picked up a paper at Circle K. While we were sitting there, Whitney Houston's new song, 'I Will Always Love You,' came on the radio. I never really liked the song before and turned down the radio. I guess I just needed a situation to apply it to. She turned it back up a bit and as I moved to turn it up a bit more she grabbed my hand and we wrestled for a second. I told her that I wasn't turning it back down and she let go. When I hear the song now, I think of Kim, and actually am starting to like it!
We had talked about seeing A Leap of Faith with Steve Martin before, and it didn't start until 5:45. We decided to go walking around in the mall for a while. We had a pretty cool time in there. She's looking for a dress to wear to Jim's wedding in a couple of months and we looked around. She tried on two, and let me see one of them. We looked at a lot of clothes, and I gave my opinion on them. I didn't joke around like I did with Audrey though. Kim and I seem to have a lot of the same tastes. I wouldn't mind tasting her to make sure, though! She wanted something with a flower print. The print on one was really small, and I told her that it was too small. I told her that every five years, the flowers on a woman's dress get one size larger. I pointed to one with fist sized flowers and said that it would belong to about a thirty-five year old. I then found one with a medium print and said that this is a twenty-five year old's dress. She loved that little analogy and we laughed about that for a long time! It's true though, old women always have these humongous gawdy flowers on their clothes! Sometimes, when I stop to think about it, I wonder where the hell my mind comes up with some of the shit it does. We really laughed a lot about that.
We went into Burdines and sprayed tester cologne on our arms. She sprayed Obsession on me, a bit much though. We kept walking around the store, holding and smelling each other's arms. It was funny. We also went into a record store and a book store. We stood in Waldenbooks for a long time doing the Where's Waldo book. I found a lot of them, quite often pretty quickly. I guess my brain is good for something. I can find Waldo. Just kidding! We also read Life in Hell for a little bit. We started joking after a while that she couldn't go into any more clothing shops. When she would see a new one, I would laugh and put my hands over her eyes. We also kept trying to keep each other from flirting with other people. It was funny. We didn't realize what time it was until almost 5:40. We rushed back to the car and took off around the corner to the theater.
There was a pretty long line outside, but it didn't take too long. Our movie had only been playing for five minutes. Kim asked me if I had my Student ID. With that discount, and the matinee discount, the ticket's were only $2.75 a piece! That's less than half of the ones to see Toys! I paid both of our ways and bought some popcorn and a drink. I had planned to pay for this one the entire time. She asked if she should grab two straws and I said yes. I think she might have done it on purpose, but once we got to our seat, she suddenly couldn't find the other one, so we had to use the same one. We kept laughing and joking to one another throughout the movie. It was a roller coaster movie with lots of really funny highs and depressing lows that had the entire theater quiet. It ended up being very good and reminded me quite a bit of the play that we saw up here at UF.
Kim's shirt said Insex and had pictures of all kinds of bugs having sex. That was interesting. It gave me a good excuse to hang all over her as I was trying to look at her shirt. I'm sure that anybody who would have looked at us back at the mall would have thought we were going out. During the movie, this guy takes a girl to a field behind his house and claps. Suddenly thousands of butterflies fly up into the air. It was really neat and Kim liked it. It was one of the many parts of the movie that gave you goose bumps. She said later that one of her relatives made her a little butterfly collection and she has it in her room. I asked her how does that go again, and I looked down at her shirt and we laughed. It was raining at the end of the movie and she suddenly remembered and asked me where do the butterflies go when it rains. We laughed, for that was a question we pondered over on the Flume during a storm back when we first were getting to know each other. I had almost forgotten. I surely didn't think she would have remembered. There was also a part in the movie where a couple that thought they liked each other, were going to soon be split apart when one of them left in a few days. It seemed to ideally parallel the two of us and I think she saw that, too. It was interesting.
We kept talking throughout the movie. Afterwards, we stopped at Wendy's. It was already eight, but this is my last day in Tampa for quite some time, so I didn't really care. I figured what could mother do, not let me use her car for the next for months?!? I thought that was funny and told her that when I got home. The first thing I told her is that even though I was late, I knew that she'd rather me drive slow and be late, than try to get home earlier and possibly get in an accident. She really liked that. I never did tell Kim that my mom might be worried, I didn't want to rush anything. I didn't get home that night until about ten. At Wendy's I ordered Frosty's and French fries. We talked and joked around some more. We read some of the comics in there as well. We had really good horoscopes. Her's said that a recent problem with an automobile will not be repeated. She really liked that. Mine had to do with physical attraction and swirling hormones. I really liked that!
On the way to her home, I was driving pretty fast. For some reason, I always drive the Mustang slow when I have other people in it. Mom's car just didn't pick up like the Mustang does, though. Surprise, surprise. The turn onto 40th Street is right next to Wendy's and I almost missed it. She asked me where I was going. The only thing I could think about out that way was big flea market. She then said that she thinks she'll go to a flea market on Sunday. I told her how much I hate flea markets, and she told me that they aren't really that bad. She then said that I must really hate it when she talks about thrift shops all of the time. I told her that I didn't, I just didn't favor them that much when I was little. She agreed that they aren't much fun for a younger person. I then said that I just don't really like talking about them. They aren't the ideal conversation piece. I then explained that I didn't find it appropriate out at Christmas Eve for that group to be talking so much about flea markets. We laughed and laughed about that. She thought it was really funny and we both kept haing a stream of good jokes about that. It was hilarious.
When we got back to her house we went inside. She was going to show me some pictures of her when she was in seventh grade and they called her 'fro.' She still doesn't believe that my room could possibly be messier than hers, and I kept teasing her that I was going to come in and look. I did get a couple of glances when she would let me. We sat on the couch and she came out with a little wooden box with all of her pictures inside. I remembered doing this at Granny's the other day. She skipped through a lot of her family's pictures and got to the more recent ones of her. She was a slight bit plump for a while, and I dare say she was stacked! Looking through her shirt that she wore that night, I realized that she still is. She also has nice legs, I was feeling them again at one point.
We started getting back to her younger pictures. She was a very cute little girl. She was even good looking in her seventh grade pictures. She almost looked like the way I remember Jana, but her hair actually wasn't that bad. I liked it. There was one older one of her and she looked really good in it. I asked her when it was taken because she looked half cute. She said something to the effect of telling me to stop lying. I then said OK, you look entirely cute in this one, and asked her again. It was only three years ago. She did go through one ugly stage when she was about twenty. Sorry, Kim. She was also a very pretty baby! When she realized that I was truly interested, she started showing me more and more of them, and was actually telling me stories behind them. By that time I was leaning way over, as was she, and we were practically leaning on each other's shoulder with our heads very close. Her mom walked in and I think she thought Kim was alone watching TV because she jumped when she saw me. She did leave us alone from then on.
One picture was of a guy she knew in the Islands named Andy. He was well built and she said she was going to pin up his picture again. I tried taking it from her and putting it in the middle of the pile so she wouldn't. I think she realized my point. We then got to the older pictures of her parents when they were younger. She finally was talking about her father. He was in the Marines and she kept saying how good looking he was. I think he died a while back. She also said that the house they are living in now, belonged to her grandparents, and has been in the family for sixty years. Her Aunt used to live across the street as well. Although it was getting pretty late, I let her take her time. I was so glad she was sharing such an intimate part of her life with me.
When it was time for me to go, we walked out on the porch and talked for a few more minutes. We ended up just feet apart looking at one another. I said, 'Well?' and she asked the same. I was thinking about kissing her and she had to have been thinking the same, she's been in far too many relationships not to be. She got a fiery look in her eyes, they were open a bit wider than usual with a questioning look, and had an almost excited tone as we talked. I matched her expressions and feelings myself. It was pretty intense. I was so scared that if I did something like kiss her there, I might lose her trust and friendship that we have built up, but I really think I should have at least moved to kiss her... I don't know. I know that I should have hugged her.
She did ask me when I'll be down next. I told her that since I don't have a car any more, I can answer that about as well as when she is coming up. Maybe she will pretty soon, she does mention it every once in a while. She asked me to write soon, and I said I'll call as well. I think she liked that. I love talking to her so much now and enjoy being with her, near her, and enjoy touching her. What a mess!?!
